The War of Mushrooms

The War of the Mushrooms was the inciting incident of the Mushroom Wars.

Summary

With the Tzar Gorokh's army approaching from the East, the brave Borovik captain mushroom tries to recruit the other mushrooms to defend their homeland. In turn, each of the mushrooms find an excuse not to join up, and so Borovik is left with a small army of young milk mushrooms to defend the glade. Although the mushroom army is eventually able to overturn the Tzar's forces, with such a blow to the young population, the mushroom community fades away to almost nothing.

Variations & Mutation

The story of the War of the Mushrooms is sometimes told in Ketterzan to encourage citizens to sign up for war against the invading forces of the Hoary Wastes.
