Summer Camp 2026 Prep
The start of June kicks off a month of preparation for the Summer Camp event in July!
Worlds I will be writing in. Primarily in Legends of the Dragonguard, but if I find a prompt that fits in with /dev/null, then I'll do that. :)
Pledge
I am pledging Copper for this year's summer camp! Last year I did not reach my pledge; feels bad man. I had a hard time trying to come up with something for the prompts. Though I was gone for most of the month last year, so that probably didn't help. Still, I find it harder to write for prompts with an already existing world, and I don't know how inspired I will be this year. Copper should be an easy one to achieve! Of course, I will still try to strive for more. And this summer camp, I have a newer, underdeveloped cyberfantasy world, so I may write for prompts in that world!Worlds I will be writing in. Primarily in Legends of the Dragonguard, but if I find a prompt that fits in with /dev/null, then I'll do that. :)

While the prompt is Love, don't forget about the lack of it in your worlds! Could make for some interesting articles for whatever the prompts will be for this wave. You can always bend the prompts to your will >:)
And don't forget about things that may not feel like love, but can be. Remember: disappointment is still a form of caring!

Going into a profession because a family member did, or a held profession within the family for generations (and most likely where the family's last name comes from - Smith, Baker, etc.)
Ancient Dragonkin are kind of like a big family in a way, because there are so few of them compared to the amount of dragonkin in the world
Organizations, clans, cultures, cults, tribes, a band of pirates, a rag-tag group of adventurers, online friends (like the WA community!)
Companionship between dragons, pets, and humans
Family families like bloodlines, extended, foster, etc.
Co-workers (ew)

This one might be a tough one. There are some obvious things for this theme, yes, but also some less obvious stuff. I wonder what the prompts will be like for this one. And it's the final week's theme, so it might be even harder since we will have already done so much for SC by then. Hmmm..

I didn't roll a 1 for the hopscotch, but I ended up randomly doing this one anyway. Finally, I've gotten the LotD homepage the way I've wanted it after all these years! Now I just need to use my own artwork for the parallax images instead of AI garbage. In due time... in due time.

Tynen's article about the World War in his alternate history world is a great example of an article about a large conflict; so much detail! The Draconian War in LotD is kind of my version of a world war, though pertaining to dragons and stuff. I've recently been working on expanding the worldbuilding to the operational structure of the Dragonguard and actually making a military battle map (complete with NATO-inspired map symbols!) for my large conflict.
Ok, I know I linked one of my own articles, but let me explain. I like reading your dragon / dragon-like species articles! From magic oriented ones to more realistic species (like what I do), it's interesting to see what kinds of ideas the community comes up with for dragons! I couldn't link just any one specific dragon article from the community, so I linked my own dragonkin overview article to portray them all.

Mochi's world is amazing! So expansive, so unique, I love it! Like Mochi, I too very much enjoy the species of other's worlds. It's hard to pick just one article from Mochi that was inspiring. However, I was recently inspired while reading Mochi's Firewood Beetles; I was zoning out (as I tend to do) reading the first paragraph and my own verion of these popped into my head - Firewood Termites. I wrote my idea down in my Discord server (quick-notes channel), so we might see this become an article during SC!

I know I've mentioned in the past several times, but Pandora9's characters have just an insane amount of detail! I aspire to create characters with this level of detail, none of mine come even close. I am so bad at making characters, especially trying to update old ones that have existed since I started LotD. (Exhibit A: Just look at my NovelEmber 2025, HA. Completely failed that..)

Istralar by Hanula is an amazing world! Her articles are so detailed, unique, and interesting! I mean, so many worlds are inspiring it's hard not to put them all here, but I don't have the room in this article for that >.< I really do enjoy her articles, especially when Summer Camp or WorldEmber comes around.

I'm counting these towards marking this hopscoch as complete, you can't stop me >:)
