One-Shot at History Report
The First Bellatorius
General Summary
Year 4 of the new Tatharian Calendar featured the first intercalary celebration of Unification, marked by festivals, music, arts, and competitions. The largest of these competitions was held outside of Tatharia Capitolina in a specially built complex of immense size. This competition was called the Bellatorius Ferox Torneamentum Primus.
The Guardians of the Hidden Citadel, consisting of Xyrdoi , Kwi al’Lisan, Silph of the Scattered Leaves and Kara Farnsworth, achieved the feat of surviving to the final round. Their primary opponents were the Conquering Titan Squadron, a group of Monster Hunters from the very far North. Though many impressive feats had been accomplished by each group of Champions, the spectators had a clear favorite, and it wasn't cheating Conquering Titan Squad.
Preparations
Determined to level the playing field, Silph directed his disciples from unnamed dojo to infiltrate the upper crust of society and learn anything that could give the party an edge over the nefarious Titan Squadron. They returned with news: The Titan Squad had paid off the entire kitchen and food service staff in the Antediluvian Palace. His agents were further able to replace several traps inside the Arena with useful tools or weapons. Kara spent her time preparing by communing with Banor. Steadfast in her faith, ready to destroy any foul beasts that threaten her friends and the good people of Tatharia. Satisfied that the omens are prepared, she wore her faith in her smile and the strength of Banor moved her feet in the Arena. Kwi, foreign to Tatharia, decided to use her temporary fame, having made it to the final round of the Bellatorius, to ingratiate herself with the populace. The Common folk of Tatharia, stunned by her grace and their brush with a legend, accepted her as one of their own, and a small bright-eyed young man endeavored to hide her legendary bow and a quiver of arrows in the arena. Luckily he wasn't caught, and Kwi would find the bow before the battle took a turn for the worst. As for a turn to the worst, Xyrdoi, the Ulcer, used his connections, and risked perhaps more than anyone to bring unholy power into the battle, and use it for the Glory of the Guardians and the Mercantorum. The dark powers took him at his promise and would give him more than he bargained for in exchange for his glory. The Battle for Glory Begins
The Guardians of The Hidden Citadel moved quickly to diable their opponents in the search for arms and armor to use before the monsters were released. They heard reports, and eventual confirmation that they would deal with 3 unique creatures. As the path through the town is traveled and the battle heats up several people see a rat moving about, despite the occasional boom roars and quakes from beneath the ground. At one point, Silph notices a rat tying a knot in a string, but didn't notice the rat had set up a clever rube-goldberg machine of a trap. Things were in the favor of the Guardians, until the https://www.dndbeyond.com/monsters/2296203-tarasconus-eoperax crawled out from it dungeon, apparently strong enough to remove itself from it bonds. The various treasures the party has found until this point in time seem as trinkets before the beast's immense bulk and rough carapace. Silph strode. to the top of the beast and second phase started.Xyrdoi the Ulcer
Xyrdoi was swallowed whole by creature and his vision swam, until he awoke in the realm of darkness. A Dark Power offered him life and second chance, in exchange for the promise of success and glory. Xyrdoi sprang to life in side the monsters gullet, and began to needle it with every weapon he had. Touched by darkness throughout his life, he used every tool and trick at his fingertips to distract and defeat the Tarrasque from within, fighting viciously and even 'eating him back' with vicious, blood sucking bites to his stomach lining. Xyrdoi's ultimate fate was uncertain, but his effect on the creatures digestive system was visible from the outside. He gave his life, his second life, and ultimately unlife to save the Guardians, and he is remember by his Guild and by the Guardians and by Tatharians as a Martyr, though not in the religious sense. His sacrifice has been held as admirable for generations. The Voice of Banor
Kara Farnsworth summons the Scythe of Banor to assist in reaping the threatening monstrosity. She fervently prays and beseeches the god of civilization for the power and grace to route the city-destroying terror above her. Her prayers are answered, but no before being torn and rended by the claws and horns of the Tarasconus. Her faith didn't waver and the life giving energy of the divines flowed through her over and again. With the assistance of a clever rat and a very intimidating Silph, Kara used the Taliman of Pure Good to open an fissure in the earth that swallowed the monster, and the unfortunate Xyrdoi along with it, into the Nine Hells. She spake the words, "do ri çıpu rir bı no Re Yaşluu , rurhuş1," and the the deed was done.Rewards Granted

Xyrdoi's guild will instead craft and hold onto and item in his memory, since he is gone from this world.
Players may also craft a Myths & Legends article about their character. Following the prompt, their actual character page can be linked in the section for Historical Basis, and the Myth or Legend about your character is completely up to you. It can be about the Bellatorius Ferox Torneamentum or about some other part of your character's life.

As you write the end of your character's story, ask yourself these questions:- How did your character and/or their organization help Tatharians after the Bellatorius? After your death?
- Where did your character eventually settle? When and where did they die? Under what circumstances?
- What is the general attitude/memory/treatment of your character's legacy by the average Tathar in the year 400 TC? Do your other characters know about this legendary person?
Character(s) interacted with
Icaghor
The party grows close to Icaghor. More information on his page will be revealed to the Players. Here are some key takeaways about his personality.- Icaghor had not one, but many contingencies to deal with the Tarrasque; nonetheless, his preparedness shouldn't lessen the faith he had that his competition would attract truly the mightiest warriors Rolara has to offer.
- He is sly, jovial, and comes off as very calculating. By year 4, he had been leading the largest tribe of Tathar people for over three decades, but to each of you, he doesn't look a day over 50 at the most. It's clear the weight of the world is on his shoulders, but it didn't stop him from keeping bets on the outcome and having fun. He gladly and loudly collects his coin from the Ensi that are closest to him.
- The two rats are pets of his and are Awakened (Int 10). They don't speak, but they unnaturally and follow directions given in Old Tathar or common. Oh, well one now. 'Tis a shame.
