Mirian

The Mirian people are those who have inhabited the mountainous northern region around the White Eye Mountains since at least the era of migration, perhaps even before. One may be able to distinguish a Mirian man or woman from their southern counterparts by their prominent brow, flat noses and hardy jaws - an intimidating structure suitable for the often harsh climates of their domain. Another key giveaway that one is from the snow-laden lands of Miria] is their dress. Due to the low temperatures, the Mirian people have practically adopted a fashion of quilted Great-tunics and cloth neckwear that can easily be adorned and affixed with great levels of status-signalling items and textiles while also providing protection from the cold. Such pride the Mirian people took in their cultural dress that they would even wear it when in the warmer climate of the Greater Bryn Valley where it would often have unfortunate and amusing consequences. The Prinffon of Miria during the latter years of the Brynic Empire visited the Emperor in his summer council at Talaan. The Prinffon, rich and pampered so he was that his belly obscured his view of his feet, lost near a quarter of his weight during the month-long visit simply from sweating in his quilted coat.
