Kingdom of Duramir

The Kingdom of Duramir is an absolute monarchy that lies at the northern edge of the central kingdoms. The climate is cold and the kingdom trades primarily in natural resources from its many mines amongst the Duranian Mountains. It borders stretch to the east where they meet the Silver Mountains, to the south they stretch to meet the Cayan Ridge and Lake Drake. To the west, the border reaches the River Kuiren where the lands of the thorn people begin. The Kingdom of Duramir is perhaps one of the overachieving domains within the central kingdoms, though its population is relatively low and its climate generally hostile for the mass farming that is common in the southern lands, Duramir remains abundant in both wealth and prestige. This can largely be attributed to the culture of the land which prides itself in outwardly presenting with notions of eloquence and lavishness, even the poorest peasant in the Duranian hinterlands would be familiar with proper etiquette and would likely fit in well in any court outwith the borders of the northern kingdom. Many Duranians make a name for themselves in foreign lands as emissaries, courtiers, and traders.
