Isfernord

Isfernord is the capital city of the Kingdom of Duramir. The city is perhaps the oldest of settlements within central kingdoms, having been an ancestral home of the duranian people mentioned in sources as far back as the age of migration. The city is populated by buildings of strong black and grey stone, colour dashed amongst them with desaturised clay. It is a cold city, where many of its inhabitants form tight cliques and work their trades in grand indoor markets. 
The city lays in the valley south of the duranian mountains, the royal palace located on a tall hill overlooking the rest of the city and its rising and falling streets that wind about each other.
