Aakomet

Aakomet is goddess prominent in the religion of The Hallowed Faith, where she is known as the goddess of courage and mercy. She is the first daughter of the sky god Jala and has come to be a very popular god amongst those who fight in warfare and particularly proud military cultures. A most famous story that had arisen around Aakomet was an old Brynic tale of a local prince who had fought a war against the Empire of Niinagtea (centred around modern Redoria) and in the penultimate battle had won a stunning victory against a superior force. Standing afore the mass of prisoners, the Prince decided to free his enemy so that they may surrender on their own terms. Having done so, he was stabbed in the back by a particularly cowardly coal miner of the Niinagtea army. Having seen the brave act of mercy from the Prince, Aakomet appeared to him in his dying moments. The goddess healed the Prince and gave him the strength to fight once more against his enemy, defeating the Niinagtea in his next battle, declaring victory for his people.   Aakomet has many shrines throughout the central kingdoms, even a rare few further afield such as the Kingdom of Volnia and Runic Empire where they have not been desecrated by the local rulers. Appealing to those who commit to war, sometimes mobile shrines and talismans are taken by the soldiers into war, those not lucky enough have been assigned the goddess as a guardian god often visiting local heralds to receive her blessings.
