Capital University

Purpose / Function

It serves as a place of learning for the soldiers of Oria, and due to it's satellite schools within other districts it also serves as a form of public education as of the 1300s. During this time the Capital University was made into a public education tool beyond those of just soldiers and generals and was also extended to pre-teens who had previously been expected to learn at home under their parents.

History

This university was first made to have a grounds to teach the soldiers in the area after the first war. The first war was one of the largest scaled conflicts that Therris had been a part of to date, and though it went in their favor there were several things that needed to happen before Therris felt it had really "won". The people of Therris wanted a place where they could learn about the inventions that the other nation had boasted against them. While the people of Therris were running around with Bronze-Age weapons the people of Fusilis had iron weapons that could pierce their armor. Though this university started as in war, it quickly followed the cultural shift towards looking inwards and promoting peace keeping. The current culture is still in that peacekeeping attitude, despite Therris's general population moving forward from it.
