Trader's Corridor

Defences

Trader's Corridor does lie outside the outer city wall, and my seem undefended at first glance. But the area is well staffed by the city guard, as well as mercenaries hired by some of the wealthier trading companies and shipwrights in the area.
Across a narrow channel on an island protecting the Sea Gate is the a river fort garrisoned by the Duke's Army, with a contingent of Lizard Folk warriors well versed in aquatic warfare.

Industry & Trade

Most of the ship construction for all of the The Grand Duchy of Kadmos takes place at Trader's Corridor. This ranges from river running keelboats to large trade vessels like galleys and longships. 
The other portion of the corridor houses the offices of shipping and trading companies operating out of Mystemere. Most of the folk who work in this area do not live here. Most deals are made on parchment, and any money that needs to be exchanged occurs within the city gates, either at the offices at the docks on Mirror Bay or at locations in the Merchant District.

Infrastructure

The Trader's Corridor lies on the northeastern side of Mystemere , along the coast and outside the outer wall of the city. It can be reached by the Duke's Road and lies close to the sea gate that opens into Mirror Bay. From the Trader's Corridor, travelers can enter the city gates directly to the south and enter the Blessed Way (Northern Blessing), or proceed to the east along the outer wall till they reach the gate at the North Road and enter the Foreign Quarter.

• Hawk the Sailor - Retired old salt running his own shipping business
• Logos Trading - Part of a shipping consortium within the Theosian Empire
• Spice Island Traders - Part of an Ithanian Trade Guild
• Tepin's Travel and Tours - Specalizes in river cruises, island hops and tourism in the Ithanian Confederation of islands
• Underhill and Overwave - Halfling owned and operated travel and trade

Shipwrights include

• Arcos Constructions - A newer builder co-owned by a Theosian noble and Dorian master craftsman
• Mitu and Sons - One of the oldest shipwrights in the Duchy, Dorian family owned and operated
• Old Cossus Best Boats - Specializes in river boats and small fishing vessels.
• Rosenward's  - Halfling owned and operated, known for exceptional design and speed
• Weathersby Fine Vessels - Owned by an Ithanian guild, known for sturdy vessels
