Olenna's Wall

Purpose / Function

Olenna's Wall separates Deadbridge Chasm from Plaza South.

Architecture

Large, grey stone bricks--similar to those used in much of the Orzhov Syndicate's architecture--are stacked five meters tall and run from the southern wall of the Tenth to Tin Street where it curves into Wayport. It is not wide enough for a patrol atop and bears no crenelation or decoration. The Deadbridge side is covered in moss and fungal vines. Conclave druids maintain the Plaza side.

History

Olenna the Sinner was an Devkarin advokist in the Orzhov Syndicate. Reportedly, she was an orphan on the streets of Plaza South who joined the Syndicate once she became of age to avoid lifelong poverty. She was an unassuming, low-ranking member of the guild. Only a single incident marked her otherwise unremarkable life: the construction of Olenna's Wall.   After roughly one hundred years serving as a clerk and banker in the Syndicate, Olenna declared the opening to Deadbridge Chasm was too dangerous for the citizens of Plaza South and was negatively impacting property values. She began construction on the wall without the aid of Orzhov loans. The guild had no record of the gold used to finance the wall. When questioned, Olenna simply responded that she "did what needed to be done."   Misreporting wealth is a cardinal sin under Orzhova, and Olenna was excommunicated. The Syndicate used loopholes in Azorius tax law to try and convict Olenna of tax evasion. She was imprisoned in Orzhov vaults for the rest of her life. The source of her wealth was never publicly recovered.   The wall was contracted under a third party, so its construction continued unhindered.   Theories on Olenna's wealth range from Devkarin royalty to demonic deals to taking the fall for another's crimes.
