They condone acts of aggression and do not believe in traditional military dominance. Instead, they believe true power lies in knowledge and cunning diplomacy, and therefore knowledge must be pursued.   Follow the teachings of Zivilyn, Lunitari, Gilean, and Solinari.    Faction strength and influence   Ormur does not have a very large military, mostly just enough to patrol and control their boarders and towns. They also do not have nearly as many paladins or clerics as the righteous Gladrian. They do however have a very large force of specially trained battle mages to supplement their forces in the event of conflict.   Other NPC’s in faction   Other Notes

Allies

Ormur and the Mages of Cintras find themselves to be natural allies. Their beliefs line up almost perfectly, as do their views of the world. The Citadel of Cintras is also located close to their capital city, and mages often come to the Ormur Institute seeking knowledge or learning, and so the proximity helps establish and maintain their relationship. As a result, the Ormur government closely follows the advice and will of the mages, and the mages in turn are more willing to fight and intervene when Ormur is threatened.

Competitors

Ormur and Gladria have a competitive relationship. Ormur counts on Gladria to suppliment their army with numbers when needed, and Gladria has found Orur's battle mages to be invaluble in fighting the Somicks of the South. However they are reluctent partners, with nither much likeling the other. Gladria finds Omurs to be arrogant, and detest their supirior mindset and attitude. Ormur finds Gladrians to be simple minded and finaticly devot beyond reason.  On top of this, both nations have contesting influence over Antris, Hornkin, and Sarris, with both nations attempting to post their own guards and collect resources from the cities.

Reluctant Respect

Gladrian and Ormur has a tenuous relationship of mutual need. Ormur depends on Gladrian wealth and raw minerals to fuel the learning and magic they need to further their studies, and Gladria has found Ormur battle mages to be invaluble in keeping back the Somicks. However despite their  cooperation, neither side lieks the other much. Gladria finds Ormurs boring, arrogant, and dislike their superiority complexe. Ormur finds the Gladrians thick headed, stubborn, and varying degrees of zelots.  In addition, there is contention over the nations boarder, where both lay claim to and have influence over Antris, Visil and Hornkin.

No Diplomatic relations

Ormur side with the Mages, and have sent several excursions into the interior to learn more, all of which were eventually confronted by Dragonborn. So far no blood has been shed, but it is felt this will not last.

Talons

Ormur's value of intelligence, magic, and diplomacy puts them at odds with the Talons. With the high number of mages it hosts, it shares similar values with the Mages of Cintaria. They believe the Talons to be dangerous renegades who are no longer needed in the world. They also dislike the sometimes dark practices of the order, and fully believe in many of the rumors surrounding the Talons. A point of contention between the two is Wolfsteade, the home of the Eastern Wolves which is located on the eastern boarder of the country. It has been attacked several times by mobs attempting to drive out the Talons, but they have stubbornly remained, insisting there will come a time that they are needed here.

Un-Friendly

Madgar

Ormur and Madgar are ideologically opposed, neither side seeing much benefit in conversation with the other. Ormur believes the Madgarians to be a primitive and culturally backwards bunch, who rely far too much on brute strength and superstitions. For their part Madgar believes the Ormur's to be an arrogant and untrustworthy lot, who rely on trickery, double speak, and look down on others that they perceive to be below them.
