Brass Dragon
"Look, I get it. You're a big dragon, you're very accomplished. I understand that. But you can't just go around insisting people pay you for living in your territory."
"Why not, mortal? It's my realm."
"Because that's called extortion, especially when you threaten to eat their houses if they don't pay."
"What if I just threaten to eat them?"
"...Somehow, you found the worse option. Just... Just don't threaten people, and let them live their lives without fear of a dragon related death, okay?"
The Sand Well Travelled
The sands of the world are well known, their dunes ever changing, their grains ever shifting. Nestled within the sands, where prying eyes won't search, lie the dens of brass dragons. Buried beneath the surface, their wings spread wide, and their tails curled around their homes, these dragons find comfort in the warmth of the sands and the light of the blazing sun. Though they fly fast over the winds, they are most often found walking, feeling the sand on their claws as they explore their realm, their brass scales blending them better on the ground than in the skies. While they travel alone, they can be found in groups discussing their territories and any issues they may have within them. Oftentimes these discussions are not solely for the dragons, and mortals can be found sitting nearby to listen or even participate in their discussions. The Scorch That Follows
Their talkative nature does not prohibit them from being somewhat brazen, having a tendency to make demands of mortals in their territories on a whim. These demands might be as simple as moving through it as quickly as possible, to desiring to travel alongside them, taking a particularly interesting object from their baggage, or paying a tax under threat of desolation of their accommodation. Because of this, many towns have an "unlucky fellow", or "dragon-talker" should one desire to use the actual title. Their sole job within the town is to parlay with the dragon of their territory when their demands are unreasonable or if they require aid from the dragon.

Important distinction, they're brass, not bronze! The dragons do okay with territories, they'll dispute amongst themselves or fight it out if necessary, but things change over time and their territories will change with it. Their own little nests will also change location, but generally they'll be in one place until they decide to move on to a new bit of their territory. Some do have really quite good relationships with their local mortals, though the opposite is also true unfortunately.
If only I could edit the comment... Please excuse the Brass Dragon clan for me, so I don't have to rebuild my house over again...
