Perhaps it is best for such things to remain as so, for he who wishes to seek such things could only bring about disaster.
Before he was reincarnated as a devil, Adam Wilmstead was a non-mage, young, and upcoming paracultist. Fascinated by the paranormal, occult, and alchemy, Wilmstead was murdered before completing his first work.
Reincarnated as a devil in the plane of Infernus, Adam used the opportunity to continue his research. At the top of his class at the University of Janiil, Wilmstead often goes on research expeditions, sometimes even going into other Planes of Existences.
One day, Adam decides to go on an expedition into the Crossroads, the Realm’s indescribable beauty oftentimes inspiring him to construct new theories on his work. This expedition, however, brings him much more than he could ever bargain for.
What is It
The Scholar's Great Work is an upcoming web novel project still under development (in the outlining stage still) that is inspired by alchemy and the occult throughout history. The plot itself is still being developed, but the story's primary themes include hermeticism and pansophism.
Dark fantasy with a touch of mystery is the intended genre.
Set in the Mortal Year 1893, the story takes place in
The Mortal Plane, The Crossroads and Infernus. There are also various other locations, but revealing them is entering spoiler territory.
