Captain Rupert Sanders (a.k.a. Ashbag'il)
INTRODUCTION
Rupert Sanders was the oldest son of a Chromarian merchant. His younger brother was Gordon Sanders, famed member of The Protectors Guild and future commander of the Trouffenese during The Traelecii Civil War in 4781. Rupert rose out of poverty and motherlessness to become a great Captain of Northsward, marrying the beautiful Gwendolyn Winslow at a young age. However, Rupert's accomplishments are shrouded by his dark abandonment of Traelec when he became obsessed and possessed by the dark magic of decomancy. Under his new demonic personality, Rupert became the demon lord "Ashbag'il", raising an army of undead beings to wreak havoc on southern Traelec toward the end of 4780 and the first days of 4781, at the order of Lord King Sephtis of Archia, who himself had been possessed by one of The Keepers of Kor'non. Rupert would be tracked down and captured by members of the Protectors Guild in Markus of 4781, eventually being rehabiliated and the demonic spirit cast out by Evander Ward. However, this would not occur until after his brother Gordon's death at the Siege of Adorea in Atember of 4781. Rupert would be heartbroken, and eventually died some days later during the awful bloodshed at the onset of The Third Magic War of Abeon. Rupert's life is not noted for villainy or heroism, but rather is seen as balanced; and thus, largely forgotten about.
