Temporal Hunting

Execution

Backwards Time Travel

Each temporal hunt is a uniquely calculated venture. They are meticulously planned and revolve around a scheduled timetable of opening and closing portals that governs all time-traveling expeditions and returns. Adhering to a complex system of temporal coordinates and historical patterns, skilled adventurers journey to specific moments in the past to encounter wildlife long extinct or on the brink of extinction. This can include mesmerizing alien creatures from the timelines of distant planets.

Observance

Anytime, Anywhere

Intrepid adventurers embark through ethereal portals to emerge in distant epochs, as determined by the Master Guide. The time period is always somewhere where nature thrives in an untamed grandeur, so no sentient civilization can interrupt.
Temporal hunters engage in exhilarating pursuits across diverse landscapes and time periods.

Whether stalking a mighty saber-toothed tiger in primeval forests or tracking a colossal woolly mammoth through icy plains.
Temporal hunting is not without its ethical considerations and strict regulations. There are two schools of thoughts that appear equally valid. And they are as much political as they are theoretical:
  1. Open Causal Loop says that the act of travelling inhibits, or otherwise disturbs, present and future developments of the ultimate destination.
    • The Dino Zeitgeist often complains of being the temporal victims of this type of hunting; citing it as the cause of their extinction.
    • Though they are alone in this: some even go as far as to blame it for the Thalatta Flood.
  2. Closed Causal Loop says that there are ultimately no causal consequences to travelling because everything that did or would have happened, was always going to happen.
    • The TTA and the Court of Eye are often pointed as the universal enforcers of this paradigm.
    • As such, this is the accepted majority opinion
