Artemis Port-City

The place seemed about as bustling as you'd expect a a planet's main spaceport all things considering, but it's apparently a ghost-town compared to how it was before Vaduz dropped in. Government

Artemis is currently under provisional administration by Union forces, though many of the city's prior government/military officials from the FUC remain employed to ensure its continual operation.

Infrastructure

The city serves as Falias' primary spaceport and freight-transit nexus, organising the distribution and exportation of the colonies' goods and extracted resources. As with most colonies on Falias, the majority of the city's structures are underground, but multiple large holes to the surface have been excavated to make room for multiple surface-to-orbit launchpads and magnetic drivelines used to begin journeys into orbit and beyond.

History

After New Kemys, Artemis is the second oldest major colony on Falias. It was originally a simple dedicated launch-site for surface-to-orbit shuttles, placed a distance away from New Kemys to minimise posibility of failed launches landing on populated areas, but as orbital traffic and infrastructure increased, the site was expanded and fitted with additional quarters to enable long-term habitation, eventually becoming a second colony of its own.
In 4999, Artemis was the target of invasion by the Vaduz Orbital Collective, in retribution for increased ice-tarriffs and the deaths at the Bregenz Agricultural-Habitat caused by an FCA force. Despite numeric and home-ground advantages, local forces were completely routed by the overwhelming technological edge of the VSDC invading forces, and the city was occupied for several years before arriving Union forces declared the city a demilitarized zone and handed partial control back to the FUC.
