Spys, Psychics and Magic

This is a Fantasy/Sci-fi blending story that I've been working on sporadically for a little over a year now. I don't actually have a name for the story yet, as I've been putting more focus on actually writing the story itself first, or at least getting all the notes I can down as I think of them. It's literally in my files as "Supernatural Psychic Spy Story" right now. XD But basically, the main character (Neil Setter) was the witness for a crime and was snatched up by a spy agency as their only (findable) witness and placing him under their protection until the case was finished. He's very nervous about it but thinks he can pull off being a "normal" man until he's set loose again. The truth is that Neil's not as human as he looks, he's actually part supernatural and is doing his best to blend in amongst non-magical folks. And he can understand the agency's worries, so he's willing to play along and keep his head down about it. But then he finds out that the agency is full of people with Psychic Powers. And the magic he'd originally used to defend himself at the crime scene wasn't dismissed as chance/weird and the agency thinks he's psychic too. Specifically, they've mistaken him for an untrained/recently Awakened Psychic that needs help/training/be taught the things he ought to know. Except, he's not. Niel isn't even a little bit psychic, but he now has to pretend he is. He doesn't want to reveal magic, just because there's no guarantee it would be accepted just because they were psychic. So now Niel's trying to figure out how to disguise magic as psychic abilities and play it safe until the case he was caught up in is solved. The Agent assigned to keep an eye on him (named Jean Sycamore), suggests he actually join the agency because of how skilled he is with his "powers". Neil doesn't think he'd make it. He's not powerful, or extravagant, or... Anything special really. But he agrees to go along with it, mostly to get Jean off his back about it. And, unexpectedly for Neil, not only does he make the cut, he gets assigned as Jean's new partner. Eventually, he and Jean get assigned to the very case he was picked up by the agency as a witness for. And once they start working on the case, Neil quickly realizes he may not be the magical connection this case has.
