Medea
Medea is the god of mischief, lies, and the Realm of Ivy. She is also known as the Chuckling Trickster.
She/It (mi-DEE-uh)
Medea's name stems from Greek culture.
Appearance/Symbolism
Medea often likes to change its form, especially around mortals. She often chooses the forms of beings known for their mischievous nature such as goblins, satyrs, and gnomes. It tends to present itself in light airy clothing that barely clings to its form. The most notable features of Medea are its eyes and mouth. Its eyes are always a vibrant pink shifting into purple and her teeth are large and yellowed. She often is symbolized by the fae, the sounds of laughter, and the feeling of being watched. Pictographical Details
Status and Relationships
She is one of the Eighteen and is on the Council of Humility. She is an outlier among the rest of the Eighteen. Many do not know or understand her intentions and she likes it this way. She has always had a grudge against Cato for trying to understand her motives and attempting to apply logic and reason to her wonder and whimsy. She rarely inserts herself in the Eighteen's business or if she does it is to cause disruption in the background. She and Koa are similar in this way and have bonded over it. Although Medea does not fully approve of Koa's motives and ideas. Medea has a romantic relationship with Shiri that has little structure or commitment. She tends to go with her impulses and Shiri respects that and doesn't tend to be too attached until more recently. Personality
Medea is a mystery to most who meet her. She follows impulses and emotions. She often has a long plan in place that is convoluted and inefficient. This does not sit well with many of the other gods, especially Cato. She can be described as a cat that lurks until they get a chance to knock a vase off the shelf. Like many of the other gods with negative domains, she is not malicious in her intent. She does stand out in that she fits her domain so well. She has a very strong sense of identity internally, but does not express it externally. History
Medea's most notable historical event would be the War of Laughter. This was a war in which she lost control over the Realm of Ivy and it created fissures into the other planes, mostly Othealia, and wreaked havoc on those planes. The main reason the war lasted as long as it did was due to Medea's inefficiency. Eventually, Mother Nature stepped in, but after not having a direct relationship with the realm for so long was forced to go along with Medea's strategy. Koa also assisted in this war making the largest impact on the war, being able to focus it on Othealia so that their efforts could be more focused. Medea also played a smaller role in the Search of Power. Being close to Shiri, she unknowingly informed the Gods of Falsehoods on otherwise privileged information. She also subtly assisted Khabir's forces to no one's knowledge except her own. She was curious about what rumors they would spread and how the truth of the God Devourer would play out among the mortals. After the imprisonment she and Shiri grew closer. Lately, Medea has grown bored of being with someone who is so longing for her company and has been avoiding Shiri in response. Although this has yet to play out it is likely to end with at least one broken heart. Notable Worshipers Last Edited By: Onyx
