Darleth (DAR-lehth)

Darleth is the southeastern region of Countillan and the Southern Countillan Isles. It includes the Darleth Planes, the Keldis Isle, and the Floor of Atlantia. The majority of the region is made up of the Darleth planes. It is temperate most of the time, although the summers can become rather hot with little shade due to a lack of large forests. They are often subjected to tornadoes and hurricanes, especially in city-states close to the coast. The majority of the farming produce comes from these plains allowing Darleth to hold significant economic power.   The notable city-states of Darleth include the following;   Worship Regulation
The majority of Darleth was encompassed by the Fallen Empires of Countillan before the Court of Countillan's creation. Many of these empires were very resistant to the court's policy. This is especially true of the Keldisian Kingdom (now Keldis and East Kedil) and Elysance. Notris was the first of the region to ally with the Court during their early formation. It was only the example Notris set that allowed for the Keldisian Kingdom to agree to the Court's requirements. After that, most of the other empires followed suit except for Elysance and the Zarov Empire, which both fell in battle.
Many of these imperialistic practices have been subdued but they have roots in the cultures of Darleth. The most prominent example of these roots is in their regulation of religious practices. The ideas of the religious superiority of gods such as Mother Nature, the Morning Lord, and the Towering Commander had been long present and pressed onto those who chose to worship other deities. However, in 6403 subtle regulations became strict and specific. The following list includes all of the acceptable deities to worship in Darleth. Even among these, there are spaces where only one deity is allowed to be worshiped.

  Acquisition of the Isles
Due to Darleth's initial promise of Atlantis and their unwillingness to join the Court, they acquired the Southern Countillan Isles. This was given to them by the current court leader of Straval, as an incentive to unite with the Court. This gift of land is what tipped the scales in the Court's favor and convinced the Keldisian Kingdom to dissolve into Keldis.
The claim of the isles was especially important to the leaders of Darleth who had sided with the Court initially. They had promised the assimilation of Atlantis to Countillan politics and policies. With access to both the east and west southern coasts, they would be able to manage the underwater empire much more efficiently.   Last Edited By: Onyx
