Hylax
Little is known about the giant black scaled Dragonkin Hylax before he became an associate of Control.
Somewhere around 774PS he arrived in the fortress town of Oakenfair, having heard of its reputation for allowing any one in as long as they could prove their worth.
Hylax quickly rose through the ranks in Oakenfair, showing off his brutal skill with his giant greatsword, eventually becoming the sworn sword and bodyguard of Hope, Queen of Oakenfair.
During the razing of the town, Hylax led the charge against the forces led by Malice. Directly fighting with the half-giant, Hylax was soundly defeated, his greatsword taken off him and used to remove the arm of his friend Alazzar. Hylax led the forces of Oakenfair in a retreat, fleeing away from the marshes. During this it was found that The Phosanan Might had a large presence in the area and were rounding up survivors. Heading for the coastline with some stragglers and Hope, the wounded Hylax boarded a ship for Elentaria.
On the passage to the new continent, Hope was struggling with her pregnancy and Hylax fell ill due to an infection developed from his poorly treated wounds. The ship captain decided they were more hassle than they was worth and left them in the next port, the city of Trezzo.
Upon arrival in the city, Hylax was too weak to look for work and so he and Hope lived destitute on the streets. It was during this rough time they were picked up by Ezdel, leader of The Idealists. Hylax was nursed back to health and joined the noble group, looking to atone for his past life and sins.
After the death of Ezdel at the hands of Waltz, Hylax took a more active part in the organisation, becoming its defacto leader, along with the guidance of his second-in-command, the wizard and priest Galen.
Hylax began a gang war against Waltz and his Red Ivys, it was this war that led to him be reunited with his former ruler Control, along with the adventuring party The Abnormals. Aiding the Abnormals in their quest, Waltz was killed and the Red Ivys ousted from the city.
Hylax decided to stay with his new family as Control moved on, but swore that when the time came to avenge Oakenfair, he would follow his former leader once more into the breach.
