Divine Spark

A Divine Spark is a piece of Viskara, The Creator's own energy that can be used to shape the reality of The Material Plane and the upper planes.
Only twenty of these sparks exist in their full form, being gifted to those who would become the Prime Deities at the end of The First Revolution. These sparks gave the Numen the necessary power to reshape the world and create the Mortal Races.
Divine Sparks can be split and their power shared, this is how the Gods create lesser Deities and even give power to their worshippers. The more percentage of a Divine Spark a creature holds the more powerful they are. Deities who have not shared their spark are much more powerful than those who have diversified greatly, either through many lesser deities or simply a few powerful ones.
There are only two examples of divine sparks other than the ones created by Viskara. These being held by the lesser deities Ruldon, The First Lich and Dione, The Drunken Saint.
Ruldon created his in an unknown arcane ritual during the Age of Renewal, hoping to ascend to godly might. Instead, his spark backfired, scarring and killing him but holding him trapped in eternal undeath, and only granting him a sliver of the power he wanted, enough to call him a god, but not enough for him to even attempt a counter attack on Vasana, The Dark Matron, who imprisoned him in The Boneyard for his hubris.
Dione's spark is a much stranger story, while he was ruler of The Crooked Market, he found on one of the many stalls part of a divine spark, seeing the power he could hold with it he took it and used to to ascend beyond his fey nature and become a lesser deity. The issue with his story is that nobody is aware of where his spark came from, all prime and lesser deities have the right amount of spark that they should, none creating the spark needed for Dione's ascension. The main theories are threefold, either Viskara, knowingly or unknowingly created more sparks and scattered them throughout the universe, the portion of the spark belonged to Thasoie, The Broken Prince, and was accidently removed when the Prime Deities separated him into the Seasonal Archfey, or, due to the strange relationship the The Fair and Foul Courts of the Feywild have with The Dimension of Time, the shard that Dione found is simply one that is yet to be created, the paradoxical nature of this last theory perplexes the Gods, as what does it mean for them if one day their sparks scatter through the planes.
