Eastern Confederation
The Eastern Confederation is the easternmost of the Gruumsh-worshipping Orokhim groups within the Prairie Clans. They are the sworn enemies of the Regiment of the Eastern Front.
The Eastern Confederation is known for its strict regimentation and its focus on developing the technologies of war. Most notably, they invented the modern crossbow in the 600s CPX. They have also refined and improved upon many traditional Human, Dwarven, and Orokhimshe war technologies, including polearms, Warg armor, and siege machines. Hierarchies in the Confederation are strictly enforced, and the roving armies of the clan wear distinctive gray uniforms that have become a potent symbol of their might.
They are deeply feared by the peoples of the Ossir Hills for their ability to swiftly and decisively surround villages and towns. When the generals of the Confederation feel merciful, they merely surround the town and extort them out of any natural resources or material wealth they may have. When they do not feel as generous, they can raze a small town in a matter of hours. In the most extreme cases, some valleys lie fallow for decades after the Confederation flattens a village and salts its earth to keep anything from growing.
The home base of the Eastern Confederation lies somewhere in the limestone caves beneath the Ossir Hills, its location a closely guarded secret. It is believed to be somewhere within a few days' ride of the Ostrogh Redoubt. The Confederation regularly attempts to storm the Ostrogh Redoubt to cripple their sworn enemies, but they have never been successful.
