Anthrohumanoid

Anthrohumanoids are a diverse group of sapient, ensouled humanoids that have animalistic features. They mostly originate from the Mystic Lands, with the exception of the salamandrons from the Lands of Ash.
Sages of Belcantas have three competing theories to explain the existence of anthrohumanoids. The first, and most widely accepted, is that the gods allowed the Humans of the Mystic Lands to adapt into more nature-oriented forms to survive the Age of Anxiety. The second is that the gods uplifed and ensouled animals to repopulate the Mystic Lands after the disasters of the Age of Anxiety wiped out all or nearly all humanoid life. The final—and most controversial—theory is that the worship of Archdevils and Demon Lords warped humans into beastlike forms. Divination magic shows anthrohumanoids as ensouled mortals, not Fiends of any kind, so this theory is not widely accepted by most sages.
Some gods of the Young Dynasty take anthrohumanoid forms in some or all dealings with humans. The most famous of these is Set, who typically appears with a canine or jackal-like head.
