Raid on Cafera

Nagataru are known for their raids on Whitestone Island island. They sail to the island on their Long Strider ships and attack the nearest settlement, taking supplies and slaves, leaving before the local army puts a stop to them.
Villages and small towns are easy to take over due to the lack of defences, but cities are different. They house armies and have proper defences, only a madman would try to raid one.

Introduction:

One day, despite everone's objections, one man lead a raid on the city of Cafera and through his great leadership and strategies, he came out victorious with a great deal of supplies and slaves. Casper the Voice of War is his name. A man known for his great leadership and combat prowess, someone smart and crazy enough to pull off such a feat.

Casper's army:

Overall, Casper came prepared with a sizeable army with enough supplies for a travel there and back and twice as many ships to take as much loot and slaves as possible.

Army of Cafera:

Overall, Cafera had the numbers advantage and had battle vehicles, but lacked specialized and powerful soldiers, not to mention the didn't have any walls around the city. While they had buildings to warn nearby settlements and hide around 3 000 civillians, it didn't play much of a role in the conflict.

Battlefield conditions and outside events:

It was after a night-long storm. While the weather has cleared, the ground was wet and muddy, making Cafera's war carriages basically unusable. Casper's Blaze cannons however were designed to set wet materials on fire, even if it was less effective.
It was Wednesday, 11:00, which meant a mass attended by most people in Cafera, including soliers, which made the city defenceless.

The battle:

Two days before, at 8:00 pm, Casper's Long Strider docked on the Whitestone Island's shore and begun making their way through the rainforest, towards the city.
Casper planned to attack from the rainforest to avoid alerting the enemy early and surprise them during the mass. Traversing the jungle took them 39 hours before they reached the city, right on time.
The jungle slowed them down and the heavy night-long storm took a toll on the army, resulting in 50 casualities from poisonous creatures, animals and other accidents. The army's morale also took a hit.

Once they reached the city Cafera, city was intermidiately allerted and the mass stopped. People rushed to the Keeps and out of the city, while soldiers rushed to their Barracks, putting on armor and taking weapons.
Casper's soldiers fired from the Blaze cannons, raining down fire on the city, setting several buildings and people on fire, causing 35 casualities to the army. As Cafera's soldiers barely got near the enemy, Casper's soliers already were in.

Recruits begun killing and capturing civillians while taking care of enemy Recruits witht he helps of Warriors of Garamuth and Savages of Valeria. The raiders had 60 more on their side, 160 of those well trained. They took 100 casualities, while the enemy took 185.

The two Signal towers were lit with fire to signal the raid to surrounding settlements, as Guards/ Warriors and Templars stepped into battle, bringing the numbers to 305 against the 260 raiders, taking 80 casualities whiel the raiders took 130.
Cafera's army eventually fully mobilized, gaining 100 civillians as help, against the enemy, who started with the next part of their plant.

Casper's the Voice of War soldiers began retreating as the back lines fired a few more Blaze cannons on the enemy, setting a few soliers on fire, takign lives of 30.
Cafera's soliers and people begun to feel weaker and dizzy, as Plaguebringers of Sarus arrived the day before, poisoning the city's food and water, weakening the soliers. But for some reason, the effects started appearing only now.

The final battle took place as Casper's raiders began taking hostages as live shields, making it harder for the enemy to attack. Weakened, demoralized and unwilling to fight, the enemy took 250 casualities, making the remaining 120, mostly Rookies and civillians surrender.
Casper's raiders took only 100, as they took over the city.

Ending:

Casper won, despite enemy's strenght and numbers, despite so many casualities. Without his planning, there was no way he would have won against so many prepared soldiers.
The rest of his men patched up their wounds and looted the city, even taking 50 of their carriages, ending up with tons of loot and 80 slaves. They lacked the numbers and only could take half of their ships with them.
The battle was not worth in. With only 1/4 of their army alive, they couln't take much, despite of what the city had to offer. But it will always be hailed as a great wing for the Nagataru.

Cafera on the other hand was shaken by the attack and took years to recover. People speak about the battle to this day. From so many dead, disease spread an amny people starved or went homeless becasue of burned down houses crops.
