Barracks

Barracks is where Masked of Dantea as a faction train and keep their soldiers, ready for most emergencies.

General layout:

The structure, made out of stone or clay bricks covered in plaster, starts out as an L corridor. On the right is the entrance to the dining hall, which connects to the kitchen. On the left are several large room filled with 2-story beds, where the soldiers sleep.
As the corridor continues past the recreation area and toilets, it ends with a set of rooms, for the Commander ranks, including the operation hall. Outside lays the training field, a large open area, and a military obstacle course.

Rooms:


Dining hall:

The dining hall is a large room filled with chairs and tables. Each table has a basket of bread and cups of spices, usually just salt. Soldiers eat here and some spend their free time.

Kitchen:

Accessed from the dining hall, it is a room filled with stoves, cauldrons and basically everything needed to prepare meals for the soldiers.

Recreation hall:

Recreation hall is a larger room fields with tables, chairs and training equipment such as dummies or weights. Soldiers tend to bring their own stuff such as cards here, so the room gets filed with a tons of games and training equipment. Because it can't house all soldiers at once, large number of them stay outside during their downtime.

Bathroom:

A set of smaller rooms with small bathtubs that are filled with water and a few latrines. The room tends to smell of sweat and shit, but it is needed with a large number of soldiers. Tho they tend to bath in lakes, rivers and the sea, as it is more convenient.

Bedrooms:

Each barracks tends to have several of them. Each has a bed an a chest for 20 soldiers, with a table and a chair in the corner. The room is used only to sleep and store stuff, as it is rather tight in terms of space.

Office:

The office is a smaller room with a few desks, chairs and a lot of shelves for things like paperwork, which Commander ranks do here.

Commander chambers:

Made for Commander ranks, these chambers include a separate set of latrines, bathtubs and bedrooms for each commander.

Operation hall:

A large room with maps, figure and all sorts of plans. Commander ranks plan their strategies here during emergencies such as war. There is a huge map on a table at the center, where they set figure and keep track of their soldiers and draw out possible moves.

Armory:

Armory is a smaller secure room filled with swords, bows, a rows, shields and armors. Basically all the equipment the soldiers need. Usually at least 4 soldiers keep guard, as the equipment costs a lot of money.

Training field:

The outside flat location is used to do all sorts of training, from simple workouts to duels between soldiers. There is a small podium next to it, where a high ranking military official stands when making announcements.

Obstacle course:

Walls, mud pits, tunnels, logs, etc. As many obstacles as possible packed into one hell. Soldiers train here for tougher environments, or to just better their physique.

Defenses:

The barracks are guarded by soldiers on shifts, day and night. There is usually at least 15 of them guarding at any time.
