Personal history
In her current life, Maya was raised in London as a child and a teenager. Her
family were individualists, so didn't always take care of each other. Maya had a boyfriend in secondary school, but he bullied her, making her more bitter. After a while, she finally confided her problems in her older brother, who managed to help her leave her situation.
However, she had made a lot of enemies during that time and it only continued as she got older and learned about the Pallorin's plans. She trusted her older brother and told him everything she knew, prompting them to take action against the Pallorin. However, home secretary James Fallaw and Inquisitor Zacharias Xenakis threw her older brother in prison and sent her to Dust Base. They let her go on the promise that she said nothing and Zacharias had some of her memories removed to emphasize this promise.
Employment
Maya went to university and finished her course by the time she was sent to Dustbane City. While she was stuck there, she worked part-time as a bartender, and worked as a fighter for the remainder of her day.

Maia is driven by revenge for those who set her up to go to Dunce Base. She also wants to expose the Pallorin's schemes and lies and has become more determined after some of her memories were removed.
