Chronokinesis

The power to manipulate time

Chronokinesis is the psionic power to manipulate time in any dimension or reality. It is different from other powers in that users directly tap into the power of their souls to use it. Humanoids with this ability are held in high regard, due to their power's nature, and are naturally considered dangerous.

Effect

Chronokinesis manipulates time, so its users can speed time up or slow it down. They do this by creating a soul-based construct, an abstract pattern made of the person's energy. The intricate patterns partially resemble a clock face as they are moving time. Chronokines can also stop time, create Chronozones, and rewrite the rules of time, depending on how powerful they are.

Side/Secondary Effects

A side effect of using chronokinesis mainly relates to the psychological impacts of realising Chronokines can manipulate reality. Although the power itself doesn't cause this, Chronokines can become disillusioned with their world and are prone to developing mental illnesses as a result.
Users of Chronokinesis use the energy from their souls to manipulate time. This means that they can suffer burnout, especially when manipulating time on larger scales.

Manifestation

When Chronokines use their powers, they create cyclical soul-based constructs that they can rotate to mirror the movement of time on a clock face. The constructs are rotated clockwise to speed time up and anticlockwise to slow time down. The only temporal ability that doesn't require a construct is chronokinetic immobilisation, where Chronokines can simply click their fingers to stop time.

Chronokinesis comes from humanoid genes that are between being recessive and dominant. This means that half-humans or half-humanoids can still "unlock" chronokinesis when the opportunity presents itself.

Chronokines shouldn't travel through time regularly, so they don't break the space-time continuum. If they travel through time, they must close any portals they open.
