Echolocation
Echolocation is the power to figure out an object's location using reflected sound waves. It is a subpower of Sonokinesis, but often comes as a package with Geokinesis.
Effect
Echolocation uses echoes to determine an object's location. It is one of those powers that don't produce visible psionic energy.
Side/Secondary Effects
Unfortunately, no power comes without side effects. Echolocation doesn't require emmense concentration, but it needs a lot of training to use accurately, which can be tiring and time-consuming. This fatigue can quickly lead to Mental Strain.
Manifestation
People access echolocation in different ways. Most echolocators use Geokinesis to "feel" each material and can determine what objects are on said material. People have to be more attuned to their environment to utilise this power fully. One way of doing this is by knocking on the material, a gesture popularised by Harvey Toska (a notable echolocator without the power of Geokinesis). Blind echolocators mainly make clicking noises to reflect sound back at them and determine what is around them.
Source
This power is different in that it is drawn mainly from a person's body, rather than their mind. This makes it difficult to class as solely a psionic power. Blind humanoids are the ones that use Echolocation as a psionic ability, as they have already adapted to using it.
