Barony of Terra Rossa and Drago Tempesta with considerable wealth from mining and olive oil produce as well as wealth from adventuring done by the wider family. They are well loved by their tenants who are loyal to the family.
History
Fernando "The Wastrel" de Cablaz, the third child of Carlos I, is considered the progenitor of the de la Wren family. He was regarded as a rakish but somewhat playboy warrior-prince who was disfavored by his father. Fernando became the leader of an Imperial elite guard that helped to defend the Empire from Raider and Heliopian raids. He is reported to have caught an enemy familiar, a Wren, in his bare hands which allowed his troops to surprise the enemy. His descendants were officially the de Cablaz-Fernandez but were also colloquially called the House of the Wren. In 994 FY the seventh child of the Duke of Nevarrain, the head of the de Cablaz-Fernandez was demoted to the minor nobility and founded the de la Wren family. They were given the Barony of Terra Rossa where they became somewhat influential. They became more notable in 1336 FY when the heirs of the dynasty, Nicolas the Ranger and Marianna the Knight, became adventurers. They set out to end the threat of a Cthulid plot which had released a strange disease across the Horned Coast. The siblings were joined by Ash Duir, a half-elf sorcerer. Ash and Nicolas would fall in love during their adventures. The newly created Wrenguard party would take down the Cthulid plot along with being the first humans to make an alliance with the Night Hinters. Ash and Nicolas' children would be raised as adventurers who joined them in their adventures. Antoine and Andre de la Wren were thus very well known adventurers. After the destruction of the Cthulid's plot, Nicolas and Ash as well as Marianna and her wife Thymyl DeCasa retired. Nicolas and Ash would becomes the Barons of Terra Rossa while Marianna became an innkeeper at her wife's inn. Antoine and Andre would take the lead of the Wrengaurd at the tender age of 16. During this time they became involved in another Elder God crisis. Antoine the Duelist would draw the siblings Havi and Kvasir Urd into the quest when he stole a book from them while searching for his mentor, Roderick "Flip" Whether. The Urd siblings would discover their mystical talents during a fight with Hounds of Tindalos alongside Antoine in the Ruins of Eldstone. Kavsir developed his sorcery skills while Havi was drawn to wizardry. Antoine reluctantly allowed the siblings to join him and also recruited his brother, Andre who was the first human to be honored as an honorary Horned One rogue. The party would meet and be saved by Indrid Cold who would continue to help them on occasion. The Wrenguard would help the Urd's home village when it was trapped by Elder beings illusions and go to save the village's young people. They were assisted in tracking down the Elder beings by Indrid Cold. They saved the young people save for Aluna who disappeared according to her 3 year old sister, Elise Arkwright. There was a brief period of peace in which Kvasir and Antoine would become fiancées during a barfight. During this peace, Kvasir would start having dreams where he would project into the Elderplane where he met Aluna who was stuck in the plane. Kvasir disappeared shortly thereafter. The Wrengaurd spent the next year trying to find him. Andre and Havi would fall in love during this time and Andre became a werewolf as a ranger to Fenris. They would also adopt Anisa during this time. Indrid Cold would reveal that Aluna was taken because she was supposed to be the next Indrid Cold but fell under the influence of an Elder God. Indrid would help Kvasir return to the material plane where the party regrouped. 12 years of adventures and mostly peace would occur. During this time, Maria, Serena, Giuseppe, Isabella and Luca would be born to Kvasir and Antoine. They would be sent to live with Nicolas and Ash while the Wrenguard are summoned to stop Aluna by Indrid Cold. Anisa would join the party as a rogue and Elise would join as a barbarian to help stop her sister. The party would search the land for Indrid who was under attack and on the run. During this time they defeated the elvish alchemist Cwalvere who was working on an immortality serum. Her notes were later stolen from the de la Wren's by Casimir. Anisa and Elise became girlfriend while adventuring due to the encouragement of a Chelona spirit named Lurk. Upon rescuing Indrid, he revealed that he was once a prince of the mothfolk before accidentally becoming trapped in the Elderplane. He would escape and then visit by force of will. This created pinpricks in the walls between planes whic hthe Elder beings were trying to use to allow the Elder Gods into the material plane alongside their new ruler, Aluna. The party then set about sabotaging her plans which culminated in a battle with the Nyarlid Aluna. After maiming Indrid, Aluna was sealed by the party. Shotly after Ricardo was born to Andre and Havi but Ricardo would pass of plague thereafter. Ricardo would be left with a relative of Havi's while they disappeared. The de la Wren children (Maria, Serena, Giuseppe, Isabella and Luca) would come of age udner the tutelage of their parents and grandparents as adventurers. They became the leaders of the Wrenguard. Maria would lead the Wrenguard during the Dracolich conflict when a dragonborn cult worked to ressurect ancient dragons to rule the world. Maria, along with her friend -----------, would meet Ricardo alongside Havi who was trying to reconcile with their son at a fair where ---------- one the bout against Ricardo. The group would be ambushed by the dragonborn cult who kidnapped one of the fair employees to be their chief since he was descended from a gold dragon in the ancient past. The party decided to deal with the issue. They convened the Wrenguard who chased down the cult and sabotaged their operations. The cult was thought destroyed at this time. Maria and --------- would be secretly married during the interval. Their son Robin would be cared for by Antoine and Kvasir while the cult resurged. Isabella brought her girlfriend Armandra Hammer into the Wrenguard to help with the fight. They had been taking slaves to excavate ancient hibernating dragons. The Wrenguard liberated the slaves and killed the walord of the cult but the high priest and an elite windguard woudl escape with a hibernating dragon. They awakened the dragon, Crawvn, who began to make trouble. Ricardo would discover he had a baby child with a sex worker and named the child Martell. Martell would be raised in the Wrenguard. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ . The party would defeat the dragon with the help of many allies. It had a cost. Isabella would lose her left hand while Serena was blinded by the dragon. She retired to become a weaver. Maria also retired to raise her son. Kvasir passed at this time. Luca, Giuseppe and Isabella became the leaders of the Wrenguard. They took a mission to save a young noble which revealed the rise of another cult known as the Deepfolk which was recruiting across the continent. The young noble, Alberto de Bruno, would decide to join the party following his rescue. Isabella became a cleric of Lugus at this time while Giuseppe finished his training as a Chevalier. They all continued the investigation as they shut down Deepfolk recruiters. Luca and Alberto would become lovers over the course of their adventures. After eight months of investigation, the Wrenguard killed a high priestess which caused the cult to retreat underground again. Luca and Alberto are married at Terra Rossa with Maria as minister and Robin as ring-bearer as Luca and Maria are the closest of the de la Wren siblings.
Mythology & Lore
The de la Wren family is primarily devoted to the Aguilan Pantheon but with a focus on the Aquila deities. There is a shrine to Cloacena in Terra Rossa. A number of members are connected to Lugus as well.
