History
The de Cablaz dynasty was founded by Carlos I "The Great" de Cablaz. He was a minor king in the Aguilano Heartlands when the Aguilan peninsula was a patchwork of chiefdoms. Carlos united the kingdoms of the Heartlands through a mixture of diplomacy and conquest. In 0 FY, Carlos was crowned as the first Aguilan Emperor. His descendants are the de Cablaz dynasty which has ruled the Empire since its founding. The many children of Carlos founded the many branches of the dynasty, as well as many other noble families who are now the nobility of the Empire. It has seen a rapid decline in population due to many foundlings of new families, assassinations and low birth rates, often through the long-term consequences of consanguinity. Manuel de Cabla-Umbra is the last mainline de Cablaz.
Disbandment
The de Cablaz main branch was made extinct by the coup led by Manuel de Cablaz-Umbra, who is the last mainline de Cablaz since the family had contracted significantly for the last two centuries. The de Cablaz dynasty is at risk of extinction except for it's descendant branches.
Mythology & Lore
The de Cablaz family officially is connected to the Aguilan Pantheon with an emphasis on Lugus, Mars, Minerva, Mercury, Ogmios and Briganntia. They are however as free as any other Aguilan subject to hold whatever religion they choose but the majority of the rulers are strict adherents of the Aguilan Pantheon.
