Freight carts are large, animal-drawn carts that carry goods across Nimenra. Drawn by horse, ox or even heffle, they are an abundant sight during market and trade seasons in the spring, summer and fall periods. While prevalent everywhere, the cart usually is slower than transporting by river way.
The trade's carrier
Carts have been used since before history itself even began. It is a tool that is taken for granted by many as they use it in their everyday lives without ever thinking about it. Freight carts carry goods across the known world's landway where riverways are too small or non-existent or too dangerous like Vieavon, even if it is used by the bravest merchants. The most simple is used by peasants that carry their goods to markets for sale. These usually are the smallest kind, being no bigger than that the goods are the only things on the cart while the handler walks beside the animal that is drawing it. These are most likely also used in the everyday life of a peasant to carry harvests and tools.
Merchant freight carts on the other hand are bigger, able to carry both goods and passengers. While not as big as the Waggon nor covered the cart is the most inexpensive and in some cases fastest of all travelling means to freight goods across the lands. Especially in Telamirein are these more common due to the proximity of settlements, while in Narzuvim waggons are more common due to the distances in some areas. In Marlun both vehicles are abundant even with the larger distances between settlements and the more dangerous conditions due to the lesser extent of long-distance trade.
