The Sharbloods
The worshippers of Shar form many a clandestine temple, but one of the most secretive, is a cabal known as The Sharbloods. The devout speak of this prestigious group do so with awe and reverence. They are believed, and rightly believe themselves to be, the Chosen of Shar, though the exact foundation for this belief is known only to their highest ranking members. While others might boast championship of Shar, or set about performing rites in Her name with access to Her power, their acts are mere child's play in comparison to the font of power Shar grants to Her chosen.
Gaining Membership
A prospective member of the Sharbloods must first be approached by one of their number. This will occur only randomly and infrequently during Religious Service to the Temple of Shar, with the expressed purpose of demonstrating one's Piety. As described above, there are many secret sects which might approach the faithful, but the Sharbloods will approach an initiate deemed worthy by correctly answering the following questions:!heydm is the initiate approached by a taboo sect of shar?
- If the DM answers "Yes," the sect is not the Sharbloods. Otherwise:
!heydm do those of this secret sect get to experience any special privileges?
- Only if the DM answers "Exceptional Yes" is the sect the Sharbloods.
If the Sharbloods have approached the prospective member, the initiate must then retreat to solitude and study, represented by the expenditure of 16 Divine Favor, 6 Lore, and the performance of 5 lines of Roleplay dialogue. During this contemplation, the initiate opens their mind to Shar's influence while studying Pre-Knowledge Tomes, a mere apéritif to the wealth of secret lore those of the Sharblood are granted access. Initiates are expected to seek out these tomes themselves, but should find no difficulty in the task should they truly be among the Chosen.
Ranks of the Sharblood
You gain reputation by utilizing the Bounty Rewards system. This applies to any creature you slay. You cannot claim the gold rewards for these bounties. You cannot gain more reputation than your rank ceiling and you must perform 5 lines of Roleplay dialogue representing your graduation to a new rank.Note: If you perform bounties for a guild, you can gain reputation for both The Sharblood and the guild. Satisfying guild bounty requirements earns you the gold as normal.
