Bounties and Contracts
The DM team will regularly post bounties and contracts. Guilds can also post contracts and bounties, providing the reward money (or items) from their coffers. A contract must specify the objective (gather materials, retrieve an item, discover a Waypoint, locate a dungeon, gather information, escort someone, etc.), the difficulty (Basic or Advanced), and the reward (at least as much gp listed in City and Wild p. 49, additional rewards optional).
Players can also initiate contracts, regardless of guild membership, providing the reward money themselves. This is a request or commission for a specific guild's services and might require a DM to adjudicate what happens upon completion.
You can complete bounties for the same guild in the process of completing a contract. The gold rewards for completing a contract are added to the basic quest rewards, however, all of your earnings for the session will be subject to the 5% guild dues.
Creating a Contract
To create a contract, simply choose a type and fill in any other necessary details. If it is a Find, or Hunt for instance you will have to specify what you want the contract takers to find or hunt. Rewards are predetermined by the table below. You may also specify any bonuses for extra difficulty, such as obtain an item from a certain place, but if you manage to do it unseen the taker gets a bonus payout. Other than that you can place restrictions on how many times a contract can be completed before it is no more. For instance, if you need 100 units of herbs, you can set a resource gathering contract for that exact amount rather than just everyone bringing you herbs and draining your bank account.
Contract Types
Exploration:
3 skill challenges and an appropriate downtime activity (Find Waypoint/Set Foundation/Gather Materials). One ability check in each challenge must be a check with Cartographer's Tools, Nature, Navigator's Tools, Survival, or Vehicles. Finding new waypoints should be used sparingly, we don't want to have a ton of channels for many similar locations.
When completed: the contract creator gets to define a place, such as a dungeon, settlement, or place of power. A DM will adjudicate the details of the waypoint as normal. Alternatively, the one who completed the contract may bank 2 pieces of Lore for future use.
Find:
3 skill challenges and 1 combat encounter. Succeeding a skill challenge that includes a check with the Disguise Kit, Forgery Kit, or Thieves' Tools grants you advantage on ability checks in the next challenge or downtime activity. You can perform the Carousing, Religious Service, or Research downtime activity instead of a combat encounter. If you do so, one contact, favor, or piece of lore is used in completing the contract. If you have acquired contacts, favor, or lore from downtime activities outside of the contract, you can spend them instead of performing the downtime activity again.
When completed: Find can be used to collect a rare reagent for crafting magic items or unique structure upgrades/components, or to acquire unique material components for high-level spells. Finding a person could be the jumping-off point for a personal or guild quest, or could unlock a specific proficiency or ability to train (using the Training downtime activity).
Hunt:
2 skill challenges and 2 combat encounters. The last encounter must be one difficulty level higher than the rest of the contract. You can replace one skill challenge with the Research downtime activity. If you do, you can use a piece of lore to gain advantage on an attack roll, ability check, or saving throw during a combat encounter of the contract.
When completed: Hunts can be used to clear an area of danger in preparation for setting a foundation, or a jumping off point for a personal or guild quest. They can also be used to collect rare reagents for crafting or special structure components/upgrades.
Protection:
3 combat encounters and 1 skill challenge. Guarding a location or person from harm can be exhausting as you are constantly keeping watch in the night and looking over your shoulder in the day. Keeping up the spirits of yourself and your charges can make the whole operation run more smoothly. Succeeding a skill challenge that includes a check with Brewer's supplies, Cook's Utensils, a Gaming Set, or a Musical Instrument grants you and your companions advantage on ability checks and saving throws during the next combat encounter.
When completed: A Protection contract can allow someone to perform the Set Foundation or Gather Materials activity in a dangerous location. Protecting an NPC results in an award of 100gp (Basic) or 250gp (Advanced) for the guild coffers.
Raid:
2 skill challenges and 2 combat encounters. Instead of 2 combat encounters, you can generate a random dungeon of Tiny (for a Basic contract) or Small (for an Advanced contract) size using the Solo Adventurer's Toolbox, p. 42. Treasure hoards found in a dungeon must be approved by a DM.
When completed: Raids can be used to clear an area of danger in preparation for setting a foundation or gathering materials. Sometimes a raid is intended to retrieve a specific magic item, subject to DM approval.
Resource Gathering:
2 Skill Challenges and 2 downtime activities (Gather Materials).
When completed: all materials gathered for the contract go to the contract holder (player or guild). The player that completes the contract gets back half of the downtime they spent completing it. A DM might require a Resource Gathering contract (or several) before allowing the expansion of a structure.

Creating a Bounty
A bounty is sort of like a contract only for monster killing. You simply choose a monster type, and it can be as broad or as specific as you want to be. These are often paired with contracts. For instance, if you create a Hunt Undead contract and then also create an Undead Bounty, people are more likely to take your contract because each kill towards the Hunt contract earns them extra loot and reputation.
