The Carriage

Every party needs a home, and there's no better home than one that you can take with you. The Carriage is the unofficial home of Sasha Densharr, Hamilton Caldwell, Finn, and Eleanor, as well as other companions who come and go. While the carriage itself may change as time goes on, its function remains the same: shelter and transportation for the party.

Description

The Carriage is a standard HansPuckett-brand wagon made of hickory. It's decently crafted, capable of protecting those inside from the harsh elements of the outdoors, but still liable to crumble under the pressure of a great force or impact. Its wheels, undercarriage, and supports are lined with iron to bolster structural integrity, as well as provide a nice finish to the vehicle. An open seat in the front of the carriage has a small footrest and iron-lined tongue capable of holding two horses at most.
Inside the Carriage, there wouldn't be much to look at had it not been for the party's friends and allies. The interior is roughly 6 feet tall, allowing most people to stand straight within. The length and width of the Carriage's interior are large enough to house 2-3 people comfortably. Small pieces of furniture, such as tables and chairs, are bolted to the floor to keep everything in place while moving. The exact contents of the Carriage are listed below.

Contents

Nevurdul is known for its wide array of strange and intriguing findings. It's common for a group of adventurers to hang on to things they find along their travels. The following list details everything in the Carriage.
  • The Robot: An ancient Cepharrian drone linked to Hamilton's medallion. Can be called upon in a moment of need, so long as the user of the medallion is close to the Robot at the time. Takes the form of a 3-foot tall metal pill, typically stored in the corner of the Carriage.
  • The Blade of Craving: A strange longsword that seems to speak to its user. Found on an old, forgotten battlefield by Sasha, who quickly chose to store it away for fear of what it could do. Tends to hang on a weapon rack on one of the walls.
  • Corvus' Sword: An ebony greatsword with a single, glowing red light at its hilt. Wielded by Corvus, it was dropped upon his death and subsequently picked up by Finn. It sits on a weapon rack on one of the walls.
  • Angela's Quilted Cloak: A large, dark blue quilt covered in drawn patches from various children of Angela Hills' Orphanage. The people of Cliff's Edge fashioned it into a cloak, which is folded on a shelf to keep it protected.
  • Cookie's Drawing of the Party: A small piece of paper with a crayon drawing of the entire party standing in front of the first carriage. Drawn by Cookie, it's framed on one of the Carriage's walls.
  • Sasha's Cooking & Carpenters' Tools: Formerly kept on Sasha's person, these small kits of basic cooking utensils and woodworking accessories have been stored in a drawer in the corner of the Carriage, for communal use.
  • Miscellaneous Bedding & Survival Supplies: Eleanor's desire to help others of her kind has led her to consistently keep some basic supplies stored away in drawers throughout the Carriage, mainly bedding and clothing. There is also a 10-ft. ladder, a mining pick, a crowbar, a padlock, and a grappling hook.
  • Small, Miscellaneous Objects: Other objects dotting the Carriage are: Roger Hart's business card, a The Riders pin, Rod's business card, and Sidge's wooden doll.

The First Carriage

While the Carriage certainly has its charm, it's still nothing compared to its predecessor. This previous carriage, much more elegant and unique than the current one, was gifted to Eleanor by an unknown individual. It appeared to be handcrafted and hand-painted, and was roughly the same size as the current carriage. Clearly, the carriage had some kind of emotional connection to Eleanor, as she was the most distraught when it met its ultimate fate.
The first carriage was broken into pieces when The Traveling Forest stampeded past the party. Very little of the carriage survived the carnage, and the group was ultimately forced to move on.
