Angela Hills

"You know, Finn... life is kind of like a river. No matter what, it just keeps flowing... Promise me you'll keep going. No matter what. ...I'm sorry, Finn."
— Angela's final words to Finn
Angela was the former owner of an orphanage in Sweetwater, and an avid supporter of Servos. She was known for her motherly spirit combined with her go-getter attitude. She looked after many young children in her time, and was responsible for the creation of Finn.

Appearance

Angela was a Human woman. Her skin was a slightly pale color, with light freckling around her nose and cheeks. Her hair was a distinct red color — a feature that would often be attributed to her specifically. Angela had an average build and height, and dressed rather plainly. Due to her financial circumstances, as well as the greater financial issues in Sweetwater, she didn't seem to have many outfits.

Personality

Angela is a combination of two distinct personality types. On the one hand, she is kind and matronly. She doesn't seem to stray far from her village and enjoyed a quiet life there. However, she also has an adventurous side that was much more obvious when she was younger. Angela would often get bursts of passion to change her day-to-day activities, or follow a spur-of-the-moment idea just because she wanted to see where it led. While this side of her had certainly diminished with age, it still comes out every so often.

Background

Angela was born to two loving parents. However, due to unknown circumstances, she was orphaned at a young age. Angela apparently raised herself over the years, struggling to survive from day-to-day. She would wind up taking on odd jobs for money, including working for VendTech once she became aware of her magical capabilities.
Years later, Angela decided to open an orphanage in Sweetwater. She looked after many children, and quickly found that she couldn't handle everything on her own. She decided to create some help, which is when Finn was born. Initially made to help her look after the children, Angela quickly grew close to Finn. It got to the point where she didn't really see him as a Servo anymore at all.
Things went on fine for awhile, until Nikolai Goodwin convinced Mayor Sweeney to pass a law in Sweetwater, banning all Servos. At first, Angela tried to hide Finn. However, it became to great of a risk; not just for her, but for the children, as well. One day, she took Finn out onto a small bridge overlooking a river, and she used her magic to wipe all of Finn's memories and experiences, before tossing him into said river.
After that, things are less clear. After less than a year, Angela's orphanage was shut down, and the fate of the children was left unknown. Angela herself moved up to Cliff's Edge, where she became good friends with Vidar Stonefoot. She also created Brondby, who she would end up giving to Cliff's Edge to help service its inhabitants.
After almost another year, Angela finally met her fate. While out hunting with a group, Angela slipped off one of the mountain's cliffs and plummeted to the rocks below. Her death was sudden and tragic, and continues to affect others to this day.

Fate

  • Died from a Great Fall
While out hunting in Cliff's Edge, Angela slipped and fell off a cliff and onto the rocks far below. While her body was never recovered, it's safe to assume she's dead.

Relationships

  • Finn: Angela and Finn were best friends when they were together. Ever since Finn remembered what she did to him, his feelings about her have been mixed, to say the least. However, these days it appears he's come to terms with her loss and is trying to move on.
  • Martin: While their interaction was brief, Angela showed trust in Martin for keeping Finn's presence in Sweetwater a secret.
  • Roger Hart: Angela and Roger seemed to have worked together in their younger years, with Angela working for VendTech as a whole during its initial years in Nevurdul. However, it seems there may have been more to it, as one of Roger Hart's business cards was left at a memorial for Angela.
