Session 39 - Murder in Riverbend

General Summary

A murder in Riverbend! Amber Nashwood had supposedly killed Reed Nox, after Reed had been verbally abusing Eleanor! Sasha Densharr reunited with Eleanor, and she explained that she'd ventured down to Riverbend to track down the party, when everything transpired. Now, Samantha Wilcott would not allow her to leave until the matter is settled.

Finn  watched as Agnes Everdeen crafted an intricate seahorse figurehead for a client in Mainfair, giving him a chance to brag about his time with the Reapers. After leaving Everdeen Woodworking, he followed Sasha into Renee's, Riverbend's Bar and Inn, with Hamilton right behind.

Sasha sat down and had an awkward exchange with Renee, the bartender and owner, which ended with her realizing she had no money to pay for her meal, after giving all her money to Namid. Hamilton spotted Sasha for the meal. Sasha, Hamilton, and Finn all sat at the bar and took in their surroundings. Hamilton persuaded Renee to place her vote, and Finn spoke with Rowan in the corner. Sasha and Hamilton went and spoke with Rowan, too, and got his vote as well. After coming to the realization that these votes could condemn Eleanor to death, Sasha and Finn marched off to Samantha's tent. The three of them had a heated standoff, debating Nevurdul's ways. Samantha ultimately refused to change her mind, and dismissed the two of them.

Meanwhile, Hamilton went into the The Bounty Hunters' Guild Hall, and was immediately attacked by Lance, the best member of the guild. Hamilton was able to talk Lance down after realizing he was being confused for someone else. Lance agreed to vote however Hamilton wanted if he went to the VendTech shop and convinced Arthur, the clerk, to stop flirting with Renee. Hamilton was successfully able to do so.

The party reunited and discussed what to do. Hamilton insisted on remaining impartial, but Sasha and Finn were ready to save Eleanor at any cost. They all went back and got Lance's vote, where he told them about Bruno's Test. The party then argued once more and Hamilton ultimately relented and gave Sasha the ballot box.

The party went to Nightowl Acres, where they heard some strange noises, but continued with caution. They met Jasper Nox, father of Reed Nox, the victim. Finn sneakily forged Jasper's vote, as Jasper obviously wanted both Amber and Eleanor put to death. Christian, Reed's brother, arrived and cast his vote as well, before wishing the party safe travels.

As they left, the party ran into a Goblin dressed in sorts of clothes, who lunged for the ballot box. Sasba was able to hold on tight, but several other Goblins emerged from the soil of the farmland, with one in particular, with a crown of corn stalks, leading the charge. And suddenly, they attacked!
