Session 18 - Sweetwater

General Summary

The party was on the path to Sweetwater! Their travels were pretty quiet, apart from Alice Roldwin attempting to rob a random carriage driver, which was quickly stopped. The party also passed by a large statue of Lecter "The Great" Stonefoot and met a lone painter on the side of the road, who painted them into his portrait of the hill.
Once the party arrived in Sweetwater, they saw the most prominent landmark was a massive, stone building lined with pillars. Before they could take in the scenery, a thief pushed past them, trying to escape. Men dressed in armored robes chased him down, using glowing staffs to burn him to ash in seconds. They quickly turned their attention to the party and asked what business they has in Sweetwater. In the end, the party was only given an hour to do their business in the settlement.
Skinny searched the settlement and discovered a rundown building tucked away: Angela's Orphanage. He slowly looked it over, regaining bits and pieces of his memory as he did, until he finally found a picture of himself with that same red-haired woman and about a dozen children. On the back, the photo said, "Angie, Finn, and the kids."
Meanwhile, Sasha, Hamilton, Alice, and Eleanor all approached Goodwin's School for the Magically Gifted. At the entrance, they met a refined Zso named Sinclair, who asked them their business at the school.
With a little convincing, they got an audience with Nikolai Goodwin himself. Sinclair led the party down the long halls to a large chamber. Inside, Goodwin was practicing manipulating wisps of light in a grand display of magical prowess. He then approached the party and, immediately sensing Sasha's magical ability, offered to let her enroll in the school. Hamilton asked if it were possible for him to have dormant magical abilities, to which Goodwin said it was "highly unlikely".
Toward the end of the tour, Sinclair led the party to a classroom filled with butterflies. Inside was a Zso named Mayhew. He brought Sasha inside and gave her a basic lesson on understanding the concept of a soul.
As the party gathered at the entrance once again, they spotted two glowing, blue eyes in the distant brush. The sight was unmistakable; it was The Order.
