Visionary Gala

Every summer, the Glarithian Academy of Arts hosts the prestigious Visionary Gala, a veritable cornucopia of artistic exhibition that lasts for three days and nights.

Admission

As it is Glarithian sentiment that art is for all peoples, there is no cost of admission to the gala, nor a requirement of status or wealth. Everyone, regardless of race, species, background, social status, age (age-appropriate entertainment and accomodations are provided), conviction or identity is welcome and encouraged to attend.

The academy is opened for the attendees at the dawn of the first day and all areas of the prestigious school are accessible and freely usable, with the caveat that attendees respect the storied history on display and do not sink to vandalism.

Exhibitions

The Visionary Gala is a delight for the senses. Countless artists of all varieties showcase their works in the many chambers of the academy, and the grounds are bustling with performers of increasingly exciting acts, including those of magical nature as the spell-weavers from the House of Learning demonstrate how they bend the Tapestrum Arcanum to their will.

On the second night of the festivities, the philosophers and poets take to the stages, whereupon members of the crowd are invited to debate and prompt these masters. Bards and their muses perform original compositions as well as classics, and dancers join in to add their lovely coreography to the experience. Winemakers dole out their produce by the jug and the largest, fattest pigs from Haven are cooked on a slow fire, filling the air with the heady aroma of roasted pork, which mingles with the scent of incense.

When the third night arrives, the main event of the gala begins. One of the faces of the academy is revealed from underneath a covering and buckets upon buckets of different colored paints are brought to the wall. All attendees are invited to add a little something onto the wall, and as the night progresses and the collaborative artwork begins to creep up the wall, ladders are brought in so those yet to contribute can do so. When the sun comes up and fully illuminates the wall, the artwork is considered complete and is allowed to stay there until the next gala.

The Church and the Gala

While the church of Resounding Truth usually demands vigilance and adherence from the peoples of the city-states, the Hierarch understands a need for unwinding every now and then.

Therefore, not only does the church allow the Gala to take place, it sponsors the event with security in the form of Seekers from Pilgrim's Watch, whose presence is always a delight for the younger attendees. For three days and nights, Glarithia is allowed to breathe and forget all about the Black Forest.
