Disassembler
Humongous colossi of brass, steel and steam, the Disassemblers are the apex of the Somatic Collective's war-machines, each housing the collective consciousnesses of a legion of S'aue.
There seems to be a central core or processing unit at the center of the main body of the Disassembler which is surrounded by a cortex of sorts, comprised of the cranial units of S'aue of the collective, each and every one connected to the central processing unit. It is assumed these cranial units belong to the S'aue that make up the collective consciousness of the mechanical behemoth. That these individuals can retain their sanity in such a cacophony of thought is a miracle in and of itself. If they do retain their sanity, that is.
The arms of a Disassembler are humongous pillars of metal with the crushing force of a mountain cascading down upon whatever is unlucky enough to be the target of such a savage hammering. These arms seem to also house tanks of a combustible liquid that preliminary research suggests is derived from a solution of crude oil and Ignisite. It is this substance that allows the Disassembler to cover huge swathes of land in infernal flame that is resistant to being extinguished with the use of water.
The legs are articulated and the knee joint allows for movement in both directions, enabling a digitigrade gait if such is deemed necessary. Astoundingly powerful hydraulics propel the lumbering machine forward with surprising and frightening speed, each footfall like a quake in and of itself. At least one Disassembler unit that has been recovered from sites of battle has had humongous circular saws in place of the mechanical fists that most units seem to be equipped with, hinting that perhaps these juggernauts are modular in nature. The implications of such a notion are dire, as it would mean there are configurations that are as of yet unknown out there.
Reports tell of Disassemblers diving out of the way of devastating joint spells cast by Warsage squads, turning their upper torso around on a swivel that had not been observed on other units before and even a hard to believe tale of a Disassembler managing to sneak up upon a detachment of Telothian legionnaires, burning them alive in an inferno of blazing flame upon being discovered, before they could even draw their swords.
It is for these reasons that tactics and strategies devised specifically for the felling of Disassemblers are being researched all across Nascindor, with the foremost experts on hunting these metal monstrosities residing in Onset-1. Thus far, the most efficient method of disabling a Disassembler has been a precision strike at the central core using sufficient force to propel a projectile through the ocular unit that is usually situated in the middle of the chassis.
Construction and features
The construction of a Disassembler is a process that is known only to the S'aue of the collective, though it is evident by their sheer size that it must be a titanic undertaking of engineering. The few Disassemblers that have been felled by the combined might of the human city-states and the S'aue Empire have been taken apart and reverse-engineered by the brightest S'aue and human minds. The results this has yielded are in equal parts fascinating and horrifying. There seems to be a central core or processing unit at the center of the main body of the Disassembler which is surrounded by a cortex of sorts, comprised of the cranial units of S'aue of the collective, each and every one connected to the central processing unit. Tactics
A Disassembler is an extreme threat on the field of battle. Not only are these hulking giants exceedingly durable, but thanks to their collective consciousness comprised of tens or even hundreds of S'aue minds they are also shrewd tacticians, often committing to maneuvers and strategies that one would not expect from something so big and seemingly clumsy.Reports tell of Disassemblers diving out of the way of devastating joint spells cast by Warsage squads, turning their upper torso around on a swivel that had not been observed on other units before and even a hard to believe tale of a Disassembler managing to sneak up upon a detachment of Telothian legionnaires, burning them alive in an inferno of blazing flame upon being discovered, before they could even draw their swords.

Prevalence
Thankfully, Disassemblers are relatively rare due to the requirement of quite a lot of S'aue to form the mind of one. It is estimated that there are less than ten active Disassemblers roaming the face of Nascindor at any given time.We can handle men and even hatelings, but THAT?
No. Get someone else to die for you.
