Armok

God of the Forge, God of Dwarves, The Stoneshaper

Armok (are-mock) is one of The Eres that was responsible for the creation of Naneth . After Eldath and Silvanus created the initial landmass and named it Naneth, Armok set about creating vast and towering mountains ranges, deep caves, and rolling hills. The Teeth is Armok's largest and most spectacular creation.   After Armok had finished with his grand creations of stone, he requested the right the create a race of creatures in his own image. Eldath and Silvanus approved this right. So it was that Armok gave birth to the race of Dwarves. They were created to inhabit the ranges of mountains Armok had created, to climb into the sky, and delve deep within the earth. Armok gave them a natural affinity for working with the stone and minerals he had created, and the dwarves rewarded him with great works, worthy of the gods themselves.   After The Betrayal, tensions between Bane, Bhaal, Myrkul and the other Eres grew significantly. They were on the brink of conflict. The ambush of Armok pushed it over the edge. Bane began to slay large portions of dwarves, causing Armok to investigate. When he arrived, Bane attacked him, mortally wounding him, and left him for dead. This event, combined with the murder of Rainbow Crow began the conflict. Dwarven lore speaks of Armok, laying wounded on Naneth, the blood pouring from his wounds into the earth, becoming Naneth's supply of Mithril and Adamantium.   Armok survived the attack, and the subsequent war against The Dead Three. As some of the other Eres decided to leave Naneth upon the end of the Age of Creation, Armok decided to stay on the mortal plane. He now lives as a spirit within the winds atop the coldest peaks, and within the warm embrace of the forge.

Worshipers

Dwarves all across Naneth worship Armok with great reverence. In cities such as Marklund and Daggerfall one can find hundreds of structures, artifacts and items dedicated to Armok. His dwarven made temples are usually grand marvels to behold. One of the ways that Armok focuses his power is through a condition called "Armok's Fever". This condition is unique to dwarves, putting them into a trance-like state. While in this state, the dwarf is compelled to create a marvel to Armok, and will remain in this state until finished. Most dwarves will experience this phenomenon once in their lives, with many never experiencing it at all.   Craftsmen like blacksmith or armorers from all over Naneth worship Armok, hoping to receive his blessing in creating great works. Travelers through mountainous areas occasionally pray to Armok as well, for safe passage through his occasionally deadly lands.

Artifacts

"Armor of the Gods"; From the earliest pocket of adamantium, it is said that the original dwarves of Naneth forged a great suit of armor. Armor that Armok himself would adorn given the occasion.
