Omamori Tokens

I see it lad, you've become a man... with the very blessing to prove your value now...
  • Baron Stone-Tearer acknowledges a member of his barony that returns from their travels with an Omamori Shrine.
To be blessed with an omamori token is a privilege most of The Kae can be bestowed with. They can hold a vast variety of benefits from helping ward off illness through the colder months to bestowing a warrior with enough strength to defeat his foes. You can receive omamori blessings from any of The Forewarners pilgrims although they usually have a preference on who they'll bless and with what.
Omamori are believed to draw their power from the power of Kaechaek this is made evident of their benefit not working outside of the continent.
The omamori token itself is a small trinket that comes in a variety of shapes and can be attached to any piece of clothing/item the blessed is carrying.
The Main 4 categories of blessings are:
  • Power (offensive buff)
  • Fortitude (defensive buff)
  • Cultivation (farming/ village life (but also includes a luck buff))
  • Cognitive (attribute buffs)
But of course there are some blessings that are more difficult to fit in any one of these categories.   A person can only be blessed by one omamori token at any given time, and may change their blessing at the end of any short rest. The ritual to change a blessing involves the burning of incense and a short prayer thanking the land and a chosen tenant from The Kae's Honour .   Examples of omamori:
  • Blessing of pace (increase to base walking speed: variable)
  • Blessing of luck (can reroll one attack or ability checks roll a day)
  • Blessing of vitality (increase hp by 1hp per level)
The most powerful known blessing is: Blessing of the hero (it gives the holder remarkable grace and combat prowess. Whenever the holder makes an ability check or attack roll that lets you add your proficiency bonus, you can treat a d20 roll of 9 or lower as a 10. Fit only for a ruler or saviour. The only known holder of this blessing is Emperor Honour  himself
