Drekar

(Dre-kar)

Drekar means dragon in the ancient language.     History- A million years ago, there were only humans, and dragons. They coexisted together in harmony, always helping one another. Throughout time, changes in climate, environments, and food caused evolution to broaden the human species into sub groups; yet still were what we know as humans. These sub species became Dvergur, & Perian and a magical fey creature called a Pixie; each one breaking away to form their own communities. Life continued this way for thousands of years.   Two hundred thousand years later, Náttúran all but died. This major rebirth killed almost all living organisms and with this rebirth most certainly struggled to survive. With this struggle, the human reproduction was slow and human salvation was in peril. Their king approached his guardian begging for forgiveness for destroying the lands. He promised his ever-lasting worship and gratitude if they would but grant them fertility. For it was found that due to the extreme measure made during the rebirth, that the men have been made sterile and unable to plant their seed and reproduce. He offered them his first born daughter as tribune to their kindness.   The dragon guardian thought on this for a great while. He told the king that he would send three men to his camp, and he would offer up the finest of wives to these men; for they were his strongest men. The king was eternally grateful to his guardian and when those men came they were greeted by one hundred beautiful women. A month after every woman held child in her womb. Each year on one night in mid-spring, the same three men received their gift in agreement of them sharing theirs. The humans were so grateful; they build a temple in their guardian's name.   As word got out, the other tribes began building temples in hopes of gaining favor among the dragons. For centuries, they thrived, until finally, the men were able to plant their own seed. The king approached his guardian telling him how grateful he was and that they no longer needed their services, though he would keep his word and forever worship his gift. His guardian was happy, but other dragons had already begun seducing the humans, having found enjoyment and their beauty.   As more and more humans began refusing the dragon's gift, they spread out to surrounding land. The dragons, angry by this and left feeling the humans became arrogant and selfish, decided to bond with a new race and so the following middle spring night, the three dragon kings approached there tribunes with great pride and took them as their bride. Each woman produced a female child. The children, though humanoid, have pointed ears and a porcelain skin. The father calls the first one Viðurálfur; wood elf. The second is named Ithilâlfur; moon elf. The third is named Anorâlfur; sun elf. The kings then chose inferior female and produced male children who would then become the mate of the female; thus creating new races.   These three families grew rapidly and traveled to new lands to build their own communities; choosing their guardian and building temples in their names. These elven people aged differently and became far superior to their human ancestors and quickly outnumbered their forces. However, as in any culture there were those that remained behind having met their mates and began their own life. At this time due to the anger still held by the loss of favor of the dragons, it was frowned upon to intermix races and those that did were cast out and a curse put upon them; the cost, the offspring were physically different. Larger frame, deeper voices, leathery skin and off color pale skin. These folk migrated south across the sea to Abfälle, finding the cold climate more comforting. These people were called Bojovnik.   Over thousands of years some dragons grew jealous of their kin and found their own pleasure among the human folk. To the islands of the north one such dragon found comfort among the pixies. And over time became ravenous with desire and seduced thousands of female folk. He got away with it for quite a while; though the offspring were even smaller. Once his king found out, a curse was placed on the island of unborn offspring and they were born wrinkled and grotesque with long pointy ears. They hated this dragon for what he had done to them and refused their existence; banishing those not cursed to the other island. They were all called Škriatok, though the pixies who remained not cursed later were called Čiar. The Čiar rather enjoyed the company of this dragon and granted him stay, offering him pleasure. In exchange he granted them use of magic allowing them to fly, turn invisible, and a fearful laughter.   Eventually the primal mother and father grew tired of the dragons spreading their seed. She called back her children, save one, and created a magical barrier surrounding Úthaf, preventing anyone from entering or leaving. The guardian of the sea remained outside of the barrier and continued keeping watch over his children under the sea, the Thalassic. Only the three kings were permitted to leave every 100 years to renew the bloodline. This was the way for another seven hundred thousand years, leaving man to defend for themselves until the dragons reproduction fell into threat.   The knowledge of who’s who only goes back to about 12000 years before Naralagon (firestorm) our most recent of Náttúran’s rebirths. Even at this point it is only known the names of the Primal Mother and Father; Odia & Rhaemiak. They are known as generation one of the previous family of guardians. Each primal pair can live up to 4000 years. Generation two (9590 BN) Mother and Father were Coyu & Diathrūs. No more than that is known. Generation three was around 7207 BN and the Primal Mother and Father then were Sashio & Dasska, generation four (4495 BN) were Thraria & Lysis, and generation five (1993 BN) were Nezu & Fithra. They were the last to feed Náttúran during her rebirth. After her recovery from Naralagon, 472 AN, Zuri & Bizor became the Primal Mother and Father, then Nius & Thorn in 2972 AN, to this day they remain so.   Though many dragons rarely find passion in mating and leave one another after the season is over, others become lifelong mates. The Primal Mother and Father are ancient Dragons and become lifelong mates. The first born of the primal mother and father became our guardians; and in the end our Guödómleika, or Devine Guardian. This has been the way for thousands of years and written in the Eruvatehtelë; the great tome.   During the previous rebirth, the people fled to Akvatisk , among other underground locations in hopes of surviving her Naralagon and were successful. Once it was safe to return to her surface, many found their new safe haven to be their home and remained. Others spread throughout the lands, searching for refuge among what remained.   In 4100 BN when our lands were barren and waste, we were facing extinction and so were our guardians. The Primal Mother and Father learned of this news and decided that the only way to survive would be to convince the humanoids to protect the eggs during their incubation period. The humanoids agreed on one condition, they share their lifeblood with them. This would give them the endurance to survive extreme temperatures. The dragons, not having much choice decided there would be no harm in this but were selective to who they shared it with. Once again the male dragons would morph into humanoids and mate with the females. This time the forms of the offspring though resembling the mother they varied in skin color and texture; having scales in various places and clawed finger tips. As the size of the Angoyar community became uncontrollable, the Primal Mother and Father demanded the mating to stop. Though many of them did so, there were some that enjoyed it too much and were cast out to the mainlands to take responsibility for their own people. The humanoids found pleasure in their dragon mates and built temples in their names through-out the lands and made them Gods.   In the year 2848 there were very few reports of matings and is left only to the Primal Fathers and Guardians. Some among the different tribes were chosen to receive the divine blood with agreement to marry only into divine blood to keep it pure. At this time the most recent in news has been the expected union of the moon elf princess to the sun elf prince, both families were chosen and their children were to marry. The prince, however, refused but not soon enough. A child was born that will lead these lands into peace.   Gold dragons Gold dragons were the most powerful and majestic of the classic metallic dragons. They are wise, lawful good foes of evil and injustice. Gold dragons were very knowledgeable and reclusive. They preferred stone lairs and had a cone of fire as a breath weapon.   Silver dragons Silver dragons were regal, lawful good creatures who often took a humanoid form and lived among humans and elves. Their breath weapon was a cone of freezing cold, and they normally made their lair in mountains. They were very smart and preferred not to fight unless necessary.   Bronze dragons Bronze dragons were inquisitive dragons with a fierce appearance and a fascination for warfare. They would often seek to fight evil, and would join good-aligned armies in a humanoid form. They were lawful good, lived in coastal areas, and had an electrical breath weapon.   Copper dragons Copper dragons were born pranksters, jokesters, and riddlers. They were chaotic good and lived in the thickened green forests of Yara. Copper dragons had an acid breath weapon but preferred to avoid combat altogether, instead taunting and teasing foes until they left.   Brass dragons Brass dragons were extremely talkative and loved the intense heat of deserts. They often engaged foes and friends alike in hours of long-winded conversation. They avoided combat if possible, but would use their breath weapon, a cone of sleeping gas, to subdue foes if threatened. They were the weakest of the classic metallic dragons, but still chaotic good.   Tungsten dragons Tungsten dragons are generally benevolent and sought to kill powerful evil. They prefer the desert sands to plushy green lands. They’re breath weapon is a superheated sand that causes fire and bludgeoning damage.   Mercury dragons Mercury dragons were whimsical, impulsive creatures. They delighted in unpredictability and were reputed to be mentally unstable as well. Though they prefer volcanic mountains, they will live where another might provide a safe keeping and promise of riches. Their "breath weapon" is a psychic disorientation.   Iron dragons Iron dragons were powerful, dangerous predators. While most had a neutral alignment, some were actually evil. They lived mainly in frozen regions and their breath weapon is a cone of ice.   Steel dragons Steel dragons were sociable, clever, and curious, and they preferred the company of humanoids rather than dragons. They often clandestinely lived in humanoid cities, and spent much of their time in a humanoid form. They were either lawful neutral or lawful good, and breathed a cone of poison gas.   Sjávar Dragon Sjávar dragons (aquatic dragons) live in the ocean and sea waters. Though they chose a cave for their lair, they enjoy the company of humans and Thalassic who have made Úthaf their home for so long. They are inquisitive and playful; of chaotic good in nature. They are very protective of their home; though they prefer not to fight, they take no pleasure in killing their enemies. They are the oldest most powerful of the dragon kind.   Platinum dragons The rarest, largest, and most powerful of the metallic dragons, platinum dragons represented the epitome of the metallic dragons. Many believed that only one ever existed.   Purple dragons Purple dragons, also called deep dragons, were slender, agile dragons who patiently stalked their prey. They lived underground and were rarely found on the surface. Purple dragons often allied with Dökkâlfur and considered themselves rivals of cloakers and mind flayers. They were chaotic evil and had a psychic "breath weapon" that confused and disoriented the target.   Shadow dragons Shadow dragons are a mix between platinum and purple dragons. They are the offspring of Cynius and Achiel. Achiel was the guardian of Beárnyékol before Cynius was exiled there. Once he breed his army from her, he killed her and too her seat on the throne. There is a secret temple in her name; honored by those who refuse to follow Cynius.
