Anorâlfur

(Ah-nor-ol-fyur)

The term means sun elf in the native language. The Anorâlfur are part of the elves that left Úthaf long ago and after surviving horrendous storms at sea, build a home at the first place they settled; Onēlión became the capital of the northern peninsula of Lairelithoniel . The thick wall creates a barrier where the 100 ft tall cliffs cannot which protects their lands from intruders.

The Anorâlfur are a prideful group that thrives on the brilliant shine of the sun and all it touches. Throughout time, they have been considered to be the most glorious of elves, with their golden skin and silky yellow hair; mostly due to the rare sightings of the Ithilâlfur. The Anorâlfur regard others with scorn; as their imperfect appearances are beneath them. They are the only known nation to not put their faith in the dragons and this is why they must continue their allegiance to the Ithilâlfur .

Description-The Anorâlfur have lived their life in the open sunlight which has granted them with a sun touch appearance. Their skin is of a golden bronze and warm colored hair. They have either yellow or white eyes; which pierces through your soul upon first glance. They are the tallest of elves, standing between 4’11” to 6’. You can usually find them in warm bright colors when not in their golden armor.

Lifespan- Elves come from the fey ancestry and so live gentle spiritual lives that enrich their bodies with rejuvenation allowing them to live very long lives. Because of this they age slowing becoming adult not until age 100. They care well for themselves giving them soft brilliant appearances which people often mistake for youth, but at the age of 400 they are now considered middle-aged. Their beliefs grant them prosperity which guides them along their path well into their 600th year when they hit prime. By this time they have refrained from reproduction and continue their lives in a graceful peace until they return to their mother; Náttúran around their 8th century.

Abilities- The Anorâlfur are known for being ambitious and determined; most of all for their remarkable bravery and their expression of physical, mental, and emotional fortitude. Fearless optimists who refuse to accept failure, they will find their deep wells of courage grow as they mature and pass this on to the youth. Because of this they have a strong endurance to stamina and a high tolerance to pain. This gives them an advantage in battle. Though they do not follow a faith for the dragon’s guardians, their resilience shines above all others and the Primal Mother and Father grant them a gift; a shield ability. With this added protection the Anorâlfur rarely back down from a fight.

Personality-The Anorâlfur are of the most regal of the elves; or would like to think so. They refer to themselves as the kings and queen of the world. They’re delighted to embrace their royal status: Vivacious, theatrical, and passion, basking in the spotlight, celebrating themselves. The Anorâlfur are natural leaders, and they enjoy cultivating friendships and romances that are artistically and creatively inspired. Though they like living their lives like an open book and perceive themselves as a celebrity, they do prefer keeping their personal romances out of the limelight. They never get tired of lavish dinners, exclusive parties, or elegant designer cloths.

Living their lives out in the open under the worlds' glorious shining star, they have a tendency to be renowned for their stability, loyalty, and consistency. They are dedicated friends and lovers who put their heart into every relationship. The Anorâlfurs are dedicated to their partners and love to watch their mates succeed, unless they feel threatened. They can become impaired by their ego, pride, and jealousy when they start to fear their star power will be eclipsed; becoming very competitive. The Anorâlfur do forget that they are their own worst enemy when it comes to their celebrity status; their brilliant shine matches their partner, keeping a balance of happiness complete.

Society- Anorâlfurs typically manage things from a more monarchy system where those who hold a place on council are prominent figures among their people. Many of them own land and manage businesses or sectors around the city. Those among them come from a lineage that dates back to when they first settled there. Only the kings’ bloodline can be dated back to Úthaf where it meets with their Ithilâlfur kin; during which time they were all relations to the Thalassic people.

The Anorâlfurs have a deep connection to magic; that which they believe comes from the energy of the sun and the heart of Náttúran . Unlike most other races, they do not have a faith in the dragon guardian that is said to guide them. Cymra is a male gold dragon who has been sent to watch over them during their times of need; when Náttúran lands burned he provided a shield to keep them from harm. When the king learned of them mating with people, he refused to accept their aid and to this day, does not acknowledge his existence. This does not however prevent others from believing.

When it comes to family and love, the Anorâlfur are all in. During courtship, they are very proud of their choices and bask in one anothers' light. The Anorâlfur love attention and make sure that everyone is aware of this; however, family life is rarely shared. They do not believe in mixing their blood with others and when it is time to join union with the Ithilâlfur, this is done in secret. They renewed their bond with the Ithilâlfur during every ascension period; the youngest prince would wed the youngest daughter. Sometimes this means that she would become queen. They like to throw elegant parties that celebrate their lives, never needing any prominent reason why. Though they do not care to associate with commoners, the royals will hold these parties for their people; usually because they enjoy flaunting their pride. Rarely do you see them among groups of other races, unless they are the ones leading them.

History- When the elves left Úthaf 30,000 years ago and made lands to the south in a thick forest marsh, many of them felt like they were home. Others disagreed, thinking they wanted to be out in the warm sunshine; they were tired of living in hiding and returned to sea. With no real navigation skills, they were caught by a hurricane that pushed them northeast to the rocky coast where Onēlión became their home. After building up a basic settlement, they immediately started on the castle keep; a structure that can be seen for miles. Tryllturion Anorrhuin, the leader at the time and the cousin of the founder of Eärenmôrthross, named himself king and began assigning others certain duties based on their participation. Soon enough the region had its governing system.

Onēlión ran as a smooth village, rapidly spreading about the lands to the north. Eventually King Tryllturion Anorrhuin moved some scouts to the south in hope of adding to their land ownership. When they came back with news of another settlement of humans, King Anorrhuin took a larger group and began building near the settlement. The humans were not sure what to think about this and they didn’t really have much claim to the land, so they offered their services on agreement that the land remain theirs as payment. King Anorrhuin agreed and offered them the southern part of the city as it grew, and they were responsible for its upkeep. Cost for maintenance came out of their profits of the businesses there.

By 8000 BN Onēlión was a large royal keep that housed the nations largest military force. The Anorrhuin lineage has proven to be a strong productive leadership that others tend to look up to for aid when needed. Their alliances include that of the Ithilâlfur and the humans, though most of the guidance comes from Lord and Lady Windsor, and their fierce dedication to leadership. Because of this, they are being called upon for most conflicts across the continents and always seem to be on the brink of war.

Around 4700 BN, a rogue group from the south made land near Aklōragalad , attacking everything in sight. They raided villages burning them to the ground. King Arphenien Anorrhuin sent forces to repel the attacks and provide stock for rebuilding the homes. There weren’t many of them, and were already badly wounded, so it didn’t take much to force them back.

The king at the times when the lands began to burn had quite a stubborn side and refused to accept their fate, nor did he call on his guardian for help. He had the best military in the world; he didn’t need the help of a dragon to keep his people safe. Unfortunately, during this time, many of his people suffered and those who could still travel, fled to the caves on the northern peninsula. This is where they discovered gold.

When the surface was safe and they could return to their homes, they found most of them destroyed. The King was angered and ordered them rebuild, but with the use of gold as well as stone. His castle became the most glorious brightest building of all the lands. The tower was so tall, you could see past all the buildings to the port and know who was coming and going. The keep at Aklōragalad was built just the same.

In 1102 AN, small portals opened in random places around Lairelithoniel , breaching the safety and security of the people. At first there were harmless people coming through, some of them simply searching for sanctuary from the war in Beárnyékol , Cynius had murdered their guardian and the Árnyékai were gathering forces. Many of them simply didn’t want to fight a guardian; others refused to be taken as slaves. King Vehiron Anorrhuin wanted nothing to do with them and shipped them to Yara. When other creatures began showing up, he couldn’t sit back and ignore the threat. War went on for 80 years before they were able to close all the gates. When the Primal Mother and Father learned of this, they sent Cymra to watch over them and make sure the gates do not open again.

After Silbermond was founded on Yara in 1759 AN, people began to disappear. It was believed to be the Dökkâlfur and the king blamed the Dökkâlfur. He sent in the military to Mordollwen for negotiations; they never returned. War broke out between the two nations and lives were lost. The king sent work to Onēlión asking King Tirithon Anorrhuin for aid. The battles raged for 5 years and finally settled with an agreement the Dökkâlfur leave their people alone.

In 2487 an illness brought in through the port swept the streets of Eyðimörk killing 30% of the people. For 20 years, the illness spread across Yara. By the time it hit Lairelithoniel it had wiped out 23% of the worlds’ population. Some believed it to be a curse while others blamed it on their enemies. Those who remain were stronger for it. Either way, they all had to once again rebuild.

In 2844 AN, it was time for Prince Calcyllion Anorrhuin to meet his betrothed, Princess Naerdiel Lómëithil. Though their meeting went well, Prince Anorrhuin refused. The meeting went well, and a courtship was started, though he was unable to put his heart into it. His feelings about purity were very important to him and he had already fallen in love with another young woman. He promised to make amends later. Shortly after the princess died of heartache and left a child in the care of her best friend. Kaiya was raised with a secret family on Yara; whereabouts were unknown to both families.

In 2898, the Dökkâlfur were once again attacking the villages, this time they were actually searching for someone. Prince Anorrhuin received messages that it had something to do with the child Kaiya and sent word for her to be brought to the palace Sólhöllin .

In 2949, Sólhöllin was attacked by Dökkâlfur , the child Kaiya was taken. King Anorrhuin and his family were murdered. Prince Anorrhuin left the palace in search of Kaiya. As of 2972, he has yet to return. Onēlión is under the watch of Lord Beirion Rotheniel and Lady Larissiel Rotheniel, the parents of Lady Esadhiel Anorrhuin, the wife of Prince Anorrhuin.
