Seige of Renault's Bay

ERA DATE: 2,461 PR (16,622 DR)   Due to a number of factors, the exceedingly wealthy port city comes under seige by a powerful fleet of pirates under the flag of Draugen Morder, the Butcher of the Willow Depths, the feared pirate and butcher from Tor who rallied several other pirate commodors together and formed a fearsome fleet 100 vessels strong. The seige wasn't simply to plunder the city, but make a statement to the world a new power had emerged in the world. A fearsome battle ensued, lasting over 100 days and costing many lives. Many nations joined the battle, but none could break Draugen's hold on the city's harbor. Nimarun, Tor, Gwenn, Joston Federation...all powerful nations with excellent marine forces, yet nothing could match the ferocity, cruelty and skill of Draugen.   Eventually, another pirate organization emerged to turn the tide of battle against Draugen's fleet, which came to be known as the Privateer's Union. It was led by a drow who denounced the open, mindless violence brought upon civilians.
