Ban Grond

The ancient dwarven capital, Ban Grond now found largely in ruin and inhabited by goblins. The city gives a bilateral atmosphere, with at one street everyday trade between goblins going on, but past the corner there can easily be a conflict ending in blood. The city is inhabited by multiple tribes of goblins each represented by a chieftain taking a seat at the council of five. The mines of the city are still semi-operated with an ever continuing war existing between the goblin miners, and foes such as minecrawlers and troglodytes. On top of this, most of the crafting within the city is performed by the Kobold slaves the goblins hold. Combining all of this, Ban Grond is an unstable gathering of goblins always at war with some life-form or their own kin.

Council of Five

After the fall of the dwarves, humans and elves, the goblins slowly gained control over most of the central eastern part of Runaar. While the tribes are often in conflict with one another, the goblins realized that eternal war between them would not allow their kin to grow. As such they joined forces over time, settling down in Ban Grond.

Yellow Bones Tribe

The yellow bones tribe is one of the oldest tribes of Ban Grond, constituting the largest amount of farmers and huntsmen, with only few military troops. It accepts most goblins regardless of background and generally attempts to keep the peace within the city. Ruled by the wise Zulk, these goblins tend to solve their conflicts as peaceful as possible offering their services of those of their Kobold slaves.

Black Hand Tribe

The black hand tribe is characterized with its praying to the deity Beliar. Their Chieftain is Azaroth, an outcast orc shaman from the west, bringing the religion of Beliar upon the goblins. Azaroth delivers Beliar's will and wrath through his hobgoblin templars. What the tribe lacks in civilians, it makes up for in military and slaves, with the black hand tribe holding ~30 % of the Kobold slaves in Ban Grond. Furthermore, they are almost always at conflict with the Brown Chests over some religious debacle.

Brown Chests Tribe

The brown chests are almost entirely made up of bugbears, with most of their people working the mines or joining the military. The Brown Chests believe in gestures of strength following the teachings of Malacath. Less in love with the finer craftsmanship of Kobolds, the tribe holds a mere ~10% in Kobold slaves. Furthermore, they host the battles in the Ban Grond arena: The Pits.

Skull Crusher Tribe

The name of this tribe reveals their signature strike, often smiting their victims down by crushing their skulls. The Skull Crushers are most renowned for their import of exotic goods all over the island, and their diplomacy with the orcs tribes of the West. Ruled by the mighty Gnel, this tribe is the only among those in Ban Grond with a settlement outside of the city. Apart from their import of 'exotic goods' the tribe is known for its large amount of slaves, having a 40% share in the Kobold slaves of Ban Grond.

Arachnid Tribe

Led by the spider sorceress Sabulah, these folks are closely related to spiders. Warriors of the Arachnid tribe often use large spiders as mounts in battles. Their story is more gruesome however, with some of the goblins serving as maturation pods. In contrast to the other tribes, the Arachnid tribe keeps mostly to itself frightening the other tribes. In addition, this tribe is the oldest of the remaining Ban Grond tribes, existing from the forging of the Ban Grond alliance.
