Erisca
Located on the banks of the Arthios River, Erisca is the economic, and political heart of the Darnithia province within the Empire of Dercia, and while some of the other proud cities of the region would disagree, the people of Erisca calls their city the Heart of the south.
According to the ancient legends of the city, the first known settlement on the location where Erisca is currently located is said to have been named Tium and according to the legends, the ancient settlement was abandoned when settlers from the Aloreans settled the area and founded Erisca. The founding myth tells that the city was named after the leader of the group of settlers, while another version of the legend goes that it was named after a now-unknown woman.
Before the Crienic people arrived in the region, the city was the capital of a large kingdom that controlled most of the Arthios river and its surrounding area, it enjoyed a special privilege from the Ancient Empire which had made it the largest and wealthiest city in the region, a centre of culture and education.
Demographics
Eriscas population reflects the age of the city as well as its role as a major river trading port
Native Darnithians make up around 40-45% of the population, they form the backbone of the city labouring, agricultural and merchant class with some among the nobility.
Crienic immigrants make up another 25% of the population with the number slowly increasing, many of them followed in the footsteps of their peoples' legions as they advanced but many are also the descendants of traders who settled in the city and brought their families. the Crienic serve as scholars, artisans and traders.
Shal'Vara people have also settled in this city, they mostly live as caravan drivers, guards and other trade related jobs.
Dwarven craftmen have a small quarter in the city where they have their workshops.
Government
Governed by an imperial appointee, the current governor, Tiberian Cassil is a local Alorean and is known as being able to balance the wellbeing of all the people calling the city their home.
The governor is supported by the city council, composed of weather landowners and influential merchants, these wield significant local power, which has led to tensions when it comes to taxation.
Districts
One of the most prestigious districts of the city is simply known as the Amphitheater, named after the monumental structure that is carved into the hillside, the amphitheatre is capable of seating 10.000 people. The place is used to host anything from grand performances to Gladiator fights.

The river trade is the lifeblood of Atheron, connecting inland territories to coastal regions. Goods like timber, grain, and ores flow through its docks, while merchants export glassware, crafted textiles, and luxury goods.
The city also profits from tolls collected at the High Bridge and taxation of the bazaars.
I like Erisca's nickname as the heart of the south. You can see why, seeing as it is such a major river trading port. I love how you do city maps.
