Nogg

Nogg is a habitable arid world, notable for being the homeworld of the Rocs and the capital of the Roccan Resistance. The planet is the third satellite of the Nog-Rasset System, and has one moon of its own. It is a fairly typical arid world, with a hot, dry equator puntuated by small seas, and more wet, temperate poles. The equatorial regions are primarily comprised of mesas and highlands, with large rivers running through canyons. Early Roccan settlements were often vertical in these canyons, and many major cities were constructed near the source of fresh water.

Nogg was devastated in 2189 CE following the Roccan War of Independence and the orbital bombardment conducted by Minamar Specialized Industries. Approximately one-third of the planet's inhabited areas were severely damaged or destroyed by the war, but a united sense of purpose among the Rocs led to a quick post-war recovery. Today, most of the cities that were destroyed by nuclear bombardment have been rebuilt, and many battlefields are now museums to the War of Independence. The large orbital debris field was cleared from the skies above Nogg by 2210 CE, following two decades of extensive work with specialised construction ships.

The planet's economy is a combination of heavy industry (particularly starship manufacturing) and services. There are also significant agricultural regions at the poles, and the equator is well-suited for solar energy generation. The planet's population is evenly distributed across the surface, but particularly near sources of fresh water (such as rivers and seas with desalination plants). Rocs are the majority of the population, but there are significant numbers of Humans and Kiliks who primarily live in the polar regions.
