Construction Ship

Construction ships are a class of space ship primarily intended for construction and repair purposes. They are operated by nearly every FTL-capable society, and are typically one of the earliest space ships constructed after the development of hyper drives. Construction ships incorporate large numbers of onboard drones and material staging yards in order to rapidly assemble orbital stations, such as system outposts or mining stations. They do not carry their resources with them, but are instead supplied by dedicated transport ships. Construction ships are often in the range of 400 metres long, typically have a crew of 50-300, and are usually unarmed.
