Roc
Rocs are a species of sapient bipedial avians, native to the arid world of Nogg. Unlike many other avian species, Rocs only possess vestigal wings and are incapable of flight. They do, however, retain more hollow bones than non-avian species, allowing for greater levels of heat dissipation. Additionally, their white-coloured feathers reflect a significant amount of heat, letting Rocs thrive in the hot arid environment of their homeworld.
Rather than their physical characteristics, Rocs pride themselves on their ability to rapidly comprehend new topics with remarkable ease. This is due to a very high level of neuroplasticity in Roccan brains, allowing them to rapidly develop new neural pathways. Roccans are also notable for their ability to think outside the box, developing novel solutions for problems. This is particularly the case for engineering problems, as Rocs are able to quickly intuit the mechanical functions of a given device.
