Halflings
Halflings are a race of small humanoids who look like a miniature adult human at full maturity, they stand about 3ft tall and weigh in on average at about 45 pounds. They are a friendly and agreeable people who value family and friendship only slightly more than they cherish the comforts of hearth and home. Halfling families tend to be quite large and extensive so halfling communities are a close knit bunch, this can become confusing to outsiders visiting a halfling settlement where they come across a variety of double-barreled last names of halflings who have married into other families but have kept their own family name. Most halfling settlements can be found in or on the edges of woodlands where they dig out burrows for themselves and furnish them with all of the comforts to be expected of a cozy home, fine carpets, quality porcelain tea sets, and master crafted wooden tables and chairs are all commonplace in a halfling burrow. While it is still rare, some Halflings find themselves living among human society quite happily, in the Kingdom of Illargos in Central Midasfjall, halflings are citizens of the kingdom after having entered an alliance with the humans in 1151. While there are many halfling families all with extensive cultures and histories, they all belong to one of the sub-species of halfling.
Halfling Sub-Species
- Stout Halfling - Can be found in Central Midasfjall living either in human towns and cities belonging to the Kingdom of Illargos or in Brewton; the only known established halfling town on Midasfjall.
- Lightfoot Halfling - Can be found in The Arbor in Central Midasfjall but they also love to roam the region, living a nomadic life in brightly coloured wagons drawn by ponies.
